I agree on the bumper comment. Mine broke on the second run and they are back ordered until May. I would tell people to wait to buy this truck until parts are available.
agreed. great review. could you post list of your mods? specifically, which path you took for flex fix? have owned mine since november, but have been down a month after pinion spit the set screw and chewed up tranny gears when they ate the screw. getting ready to install replacements, and was thinking about aluminum upgrades at the same time. thanks in advance for any additional effort.
Mods are Vivaton Aluminum arms all around, Chassis armor that you would find on ebay, its unbranded but works quite well. As for the flex in the rear cage, Im using 3d printed braces off of etsy but any cage brace for the rear section of the truck should do. My body is also shoe gooed and drywall taped for added durability. The arms are my favorite though because of the additional tuning options for the shock positions.
@@hassinshobbies5360 no doubt. this is my first big rc car. my first was a hornet(when they were new), and got a jrx2 the day they came out. eventually was racing on clay ovals with a yz10. that was nearly 30 years ago. lol. the sbr 2.0 is my first large scale truck, and have been enjoying it...up until the set screw incorporated itself into the transmission gears. otherwise it is bulletproof. first time on 8s @ 100% throttle I lost it when it pulled the wheelie and hit a brick mailbox head on doing about 40. led light in bumper and rubber skirt only casualties... the shoe goo mod works great...I used fibafuse instead of mesh tape and glad I did. thanks again for the info...
Nice review and honest opinions. I got mine coming in. Hopefully this week. I’ve always wanted this but opted for the super rock Rey first. What’s your thoughts and differences between this SBR2.0 and the super Rock Rey. Some other UA-camd mentioned that their identical just with different body’s
Yea, the only differences between them are a different suspension design up front, the rock rey has larger wheels, and of course the body is different as well.
One question, For the battery tray what are the thickest batteries you can run? because I'm looking at 2 8000mah 4s powerhobby batteries and they are about 48mm thick for one so both will be 96mm do you know if that's too thick? Thank You.
Have you had any problems with esc cuz my stock esc stopped turning on at all after about 10 6s packs i bought another one and same thing happened i ran 6s majority of the time sometimes 8s and i cant even get the esc to go into programming mode
This evening, the transmission center cluster gear set in my SBR2 failed - the spur gear lost all of its teeth. The motor pinion still looks fine - no damage. I've contacted Horizon and I believe they should replace the failed part under the warranty. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a gear failure and if there are any stronger aftermarket gears available for this vehicle.

If you go the aluminum route though, definitely don't skip on thread locker. It'll save you many headaches!

I have never had that problem, I would contact Horizon Hobbies and ask them personally about that.
You need to drywall tape and shoe goo inside your body problem solved
