  • The documentary (Planeta Ámbar) explains the principal abiotic and biotic factors potentially involved in the Cretaceous Resinous Interval (CREI = gobal mass resin production and burial interval that occurred during the Cretaceous Period) and the major hypotheses that have been raised, ending with a discussion of the current research in progress.

    For Greeks and Romans, the main source of amber was the Baltic Sea region (not least Gothic areas). There is plenty of archaeological evidence for that trade. This institute should know that, just as they should know that Greek literature is full of such references. You can still pick quantities of amber along the coasts of Sweden, Denmark and Poland. Yet they are not mentioned at all.
