As a single mother, working full time with no help with my kids. This made me cry.
It’s really hard out there. This notion that we are all in this together is total B.S. Covid is happening but bills will always still be due.

Don’t listen to stuff like that. That’s just internet people looking for someone to pick on. Your kids are lucky to have you and I’m sure they are so proud to have a mother like you. Keep working hard and save where you can. It will pay off one day! 💛

Sharon honestly tries to do the right thing, she was absolved from the accident and could have easily walked away especially with the circumstances and the initial blame laid on her but she found a way to help the mother but mostly I think she did it for the boy. His already in agony imagine waking up and knowing because you didn't listen and stay inside the authorities came and separated you from the only family you have. He is too young he would probably see the whole thing as HIS fault even though it isn't......life is just complicated like that. Definitely like Sharon the best on med.

I’m guessing the mum wanted to pin blame on Sharon rather than herself since she knew that leaving the kids alone was what led to the accident to begin with.….& yet the mum doesn’t even APOLOGISE. Understand her situation but - STILL don’t like her.

This is why single parents with low income (both mothers and fathers) should be required by law to live with other relatives. Grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins; anyone who can watch the kids while mom/dad is at work. And if that's not an option, they need to be given to the other parent if they make more money (and no criminal record). At least enough money to hire a babysitter while they are working. And if those options aren't available, they need to have their children taken away. If they can barely afford to feed and take care of themselves they have no business taking care of children. It's borderline abusive subjecting children to a life like this: barely seeing their parent, not getting enough food in their stomachs, being denied simple childhood pleasures like getting gifts because mom/dad doesn't have enough money after the bills are paid. They need to be sent into protective custody until their parent gets more financially stable. It may sound cruel to take a parents child away; especially from the mother. But as a parent they need to do what's best for their child. And sometimes that's recognizing that they aren't capable of raising a child and they need to be sent away.
This is also part of the reason why I believe that, in regards to divorce; once a child is born it should be illegal for a couple to divorce. If there's no child from the couple, then they can split; once a child is born nope. Some might say that could cause a spike in domestic violence and that is a possibility. But the idea is that by having divorces illegal once a child is born, it'll make couples think twice before getting married or having a child until they are certain they are truly for life.
