Ameal + No Common Sense is the collab we never asked for, but dearly needed.
I'm working on drill, should be done eventually
Goof ah MMM
@@AmealYTboutta write 15 minutes of 1 to 5's 😭
@@therealnocommonsense🚆
u should finish the drill pwetty pwease i’ve watched this video like 100 times already in the past few days
define eventually
I am amazed at how each chord is clearly arranged with the correct notes on each part. Watching the baritones is really fun. But the way each chord comes together is outstanding. My favorite part is probably the phrase starting at 3:30. Where it ends on the Gflat Major 9 chord.
Outstanding work.
This inspired me to write my own DCI show.
"Catch the Wind"
It's just for fun. And I've selected a couple songs to arrange in it.
You're doing great work.
Thanks!
this is absolutely amazing!!! the chords made my hairs stand!
5:51 this much in and my mind wants more already
Sheets for the snare music is on my channel!

Amazing percussion writing!
Thx
Amazing show! Only thing wrong is the wind sprints misspelling in the description.
This is awesome!!!
what type of synth is that at 8:23. i’ve briefly tried to put one into the show i’m working on but none of the default musescore ones sounded good
edit: just finished the whole thing and i am beyond amazed! all those months of work are worth it for something like this!
It's either the sine or saw synth I don't remember which one
@@therealnocommonsense thanks!
@@therealnocommonsensei’m pretty sure you used the saw. i tried putting the same note (D below the staff on bass clef) and it sounds similar but not as dark ig and there’s this electronic rising and falling in the background. did you use a soundfont?
@@extremelybaldcardboard the only soundfont I used was MDL
yoo can you put up the mello sheets?? love this show so much! especially the mello line at 8:05 and the ballad
Can I get a musicmxl file to mess around with it?
You should sent this to a dci corp
Hey. Me and my buddy were wondering how exactly you did this. How did you separate the pit/battery from the brass? Is there some sort of collaborative feature on musescore? We wanted to make a show together but we don’t know at all about how to go about it.
Me and my friend @Ameal both worked on this show, but unfortunately there's no collaborative engraving tools in musescore. So I had written the brass in musescore and my friend decided to use flat.io for the percussion bc he's more comfortable with that UI. After both parts were finished I screen recorded the brass and made an mp3 of the perc parts, then lined them up with Inshot and messed with the mixing a bit. It's a little tedious, but it does get the job done. Hope this helps! God bless you!
Thank you so much. God Bless you too
im not too sure if thats possible in the 3rd baritone part at 5:39
It is, If there is a 4th valve
@@UgoNwakanmais the case of marching baritones, they don’t have 4th valves, so it wouldn’t be possible
@@DuhWardenI mean technically they could use all 3 valves to get down to the low E, and then lip it down into false tones. But that wouldn't really be practical
better than most dci shows ive watched
can i make like prop and drill ideas because you guys should really license your shows to bands
Baller
4:18 sounds so familiar i just cant pin where ive heard it
Marching southerners 2019?
low mello range is interesting
Quite the key at L mvmt 4 lmao Gbmaj or Ebm
Do you have tips as an arranger on how to find pieces to arrange for shows?
#1 thing when looking for pieces to arrange is try to find something that isnt too well known. It'll make your show stand out compared the millions of others that have something like Ode to Joy or Shostakovich Symphony #10. I'm not saying only pick unknown music but if you choose something that has been used many times before, give it your own style so it doesn't sound too generic.
What I do sometimes is whenever I listen to something I think has potential I'll put it in a playlist so if I ever try to do a show I can look through the catalog I made for myself. That's just the way I do it though.
@@therealnocommonsenseI have a “show ideas” playlist on Apple Music and i’ve been adding everything that I think would translate well to the field. Thanks for the tips! Great work by the way!!
@@cgrimesmusic2535 glad I could be of help
Hey! I write drum corps shows too, lmk if you ever want to collaborate I have some pretty good ideas lol
Why do you not use MDL? I find it a bit strange that you still use the default Percussion sounds
This was a collab with @Ameal, he used Flat for the percussion. For my own shows I use MDL
My fault
@@AmealYT No worries. I just hate how the default sounds are and just wanted to point it out to make your shows a bit better.
