I just bought some 12 gauge 2 and 3/4 inch 16 pellet number one buck I hope I get better performance out of those I always deer hunt with number one Buck if I'm using the shotgun but it's normally the Winchester 3-inch keep putting out the great videos and I'll keep watching
Well, I actually just picked some of those exact shells up the other day and was planning on testing them out this week, so we'll see how they do for me. This is definitely an outlier though, the 12ga copper plated shells are way better it seems
@matttyreeoutdoors I have some federal powershock 20 guage 3inch number 2 buckshot that does really well in my full choke gun. It's hard to find but my local shop gets it occasionally. I think it's better than any number 3 buck as far as patterns in 20 guage. I just started following your channel about 3 months ago and you already did one I mentioned. Keep up the great work I share alot of your videos. Hopefully you blow up. In a good way 🤣
So far, I haven't found anything that works well through this 301 when it comes to buckshot in particular. It does great with everything else, but I guess it's just gonna be a little picky with buckshot and what choke combos work best together
@matttyreeoutdoors i think they are picky about the type of choke. None pattern well out of flush style chokes. I tried an extended full choke which tightened the group but there are fliers.
Are you by any chance saving the paper, perhaps noting the shell, gun, and choke...? you are getting into numerous videos, and someday it would be nice to see a compendium of the results, maybe rated by poor, okay, and great...thinking it is not just the shells, but the chokes, also...i'm getting a little lost trying to sort out all your results, but maybe it's just me...
I keep some of the turkey targets, but otherwise I just take pictures of the good combos. I do also have a whole spreadsheet of all the combos I've tried so I can keep track of things, but that's about it. I can look into making a playlist on the channel with all the best performing combinations if people would be interested in that
Yeah, I think it definitely makes a difference. I'm not a handloader, but I'd be curios to unload these, put a small wad in them, then repack them and see how they do then

With my Mossberg 500 20 gauge the non-plated buckshot patterns tighter than the copper plated.

Mine likes modified choke for big buck
I have never had a good pattern from any 20ga buckshot in a choke less than full. They seem to like the tighter chokes way better in my testing
You should try 0B from aguila ammunition 12 pellets
I'll definitely try them if I find some
Geared towards Kids !!!
Good for 30 yards😎😎😎
Yeah, it would work for them, but you would have to keep it at some pretty close ranges
Abysmal buckshot performance. Looks like a turkey / birdshot pattern.
Yeah, it definitely wasn't great

That load would be good for armed two legged predators approaching your residence at about 30 to 40 yards but doing that would be illegal.
Yeah, it would do the job for that
I would try at 30 yards and see.
The overall size of the pattern would be smaller, but I honestly don't think it will be anything impressive still
Yikes!
Yep, definitely not what I'm looking for
I wasn't expecting something special, but that is very disappointing.
Yep, it was definitely a big disappointment
Wow, that is surprising and disappointing at the same time. So not having a shotcup or heavy duty wad behind it makes a real difference.
