I’ve been hunting a ton but never bird hunting. Is it a rule that you don’t turn around to shoot even if it’s clear? Is that just a safety thing I imagine?
He wanted me to add that in there! It was about a 4 foot ditch that you couldn’t see in the grass. I typically fall at least twice a day walking around in that tall grass.

Your dog drops the bird retrieved and says " Take this sob I want to hunt... Leave me alone."
My young dog does great with quail or smaller birds but we’re still working on her retrieving pheasants!
