They only did this for one reason: Kate Collins left AMC because of James Kilberd(Trevor) he once slipped her the tongue during rehearsal and she never forgave him. They didn’t bring Robin Mattson back because when she returned to GH, the ratings didn’t rise very much so they went with Kate Collins and since she and James couldn’t work together and didn’t feel anyone else could play him, they killed him off to showcase how far into insanity Janet had gone.
@@lorififield593 u don’t think she ever really loved them? So Janet rescuing Amanda from a well or Making a bargain for Tim to return home safely when he ran away was for selfish reasons?
@@lorififield593 u make it sound like mental illness is a choice. She was abused heavily. I watched amc when Janet first arrived on the scene in 1991. Before she did anything Wacko everyone treated her like she was from another planet. Years of abuse would make u go off ur rocker too. Robin Mattson did amazing giving the character depth and humility.
@@lorififield593 u really don’t understand mental illness....the woman spoke to mirrors and in her mind they spoke back to her. She was not in any sense of the word, a sane person. Logic and common sense do not apply with her. She wasn’t evil she was sick.
Heartbreaking for Amanda and Trevor. I watched AMC from the beginning of Trevor, Natalie and Janet. Sad for this ending but mental illness exists and this was a good spin on it
@@laurafernandez8281 I didn't know that. I initially thought she was one of the many that were fed up with the direction of the show and opted to leave. Well it's been over 15 years now and the actress is still alive and well from what I hear so thankfully it wasn't a serious illness
@@nothingbutsoaps2674 no I read she left because they wanted to bump her to recurring status the way they did Opal at the time. So being the ever so vindictive people they are, ABC didn’t even give her an exit date, she just disappeared.
I felt like we invested too much into Trevor and Janet over the years for that conclusion. It just felt like a shitty way to end his character.
Well, this was a pretty dark period in AMC's history when all they cared about was idiots like Ryan and Grenlee and "fetus boy" Madden.

I love Brooke! :) xx
@@lorififield593 she is I love that about her ❤
I know Janet wasn't all there But I do remember when she was finally fitting in to PV society .........she saved Jamie1
This was just a really stupid storyline.

There wasn't a particular episode in 2006 that showed Brooke leaving Pine Valley, she just vanished.
When was her last episode? Also, why did they replace Will Christian as Derek?
YUP SHE GOt on the elevator and that was it!
She did say she was leaving for awhile. I remember reading in a saop magazine. That she was sick amd she needed a break to take care of herself
