In this video we visit the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park in Carlsbad, New Mexico. This New Mexico State Park is located on the North side of town at 1504 Skyline Dr overlooking the Pecos River Valley of Carlsbad, New Mexico. This zoo and botanical gardens displays plants and animals of the Chihahuan Desert in their native habitats.
Hours : 9:00am till 5:00pm The last entry to park is at 3:30pm. No reservations required.

This was a really cool idea for a park. I love the idea of being able to see plant and animal life from the desert somewhat up close like this. I love botanical gardens and this one is so unique since it focuses on desert vegetation. Thanks for showing us around this place!

We went there on New Year's Day 2023. Interesting place. Just make sure to NOT buy tickets online. You will probably accidentally get a similarly named place in California. Thankfully I wasn't the first to make that mistake. As for the one in NM, very pleasant place to spend an hour or two.
