Spearfishing NY. 3 fish July 2022. Striped Bass, Bluefish, Triggerfish.

1 close call, 3 fish, and 3 misses.
The water On July 17 was unexpectedly clear. I had been using the short 55cm Salvimar pneumatic speargun, as the visibility had been so bad.
A lone bluefish swam by and I took it. It pulled the line and swam around the floatline.
I saw a small school of triggers, and I took the one that looked the largest. I let the small ones be and grow. I had missed a couple earlier on.
I was surprised to see a school of striped bass. Some looked short, some decent. I took a shot at the one I was tracking. The bass below it must have moved, I got 2 fish at once. The one behind had a hole in muscle mass, away from vital organs, the spine was not affected, I let it go wounded, in hope that it could heal. The one that I aimed to was on the line and wounded in the guts. It was 31 in / 77 cm
I saw a couple of huge stripers by the rock, probably 45 inches or more.
In a previous dive, the charter boat Sea Princess drove fast close to me and the flag of my friend who was diving. No regard for maritime rules and safe distance from a commercial operation captain.
In the summertime, on weekends, I tend to wear the yellow Omer UPM1 mask, which adds some visibility apart from the float and flag.
the longer 75cm pneumatic speargun has more punch and accuracy at a longer distance. But the 55 still is powerful and easy to maneuver.
The camera is mounted at the very tip of the speargun, so the fish appears quite closer than it would to my eyes.
I have been using the DJI Action 2 on the speargun. It has some downsides, but being very small and completely sealed, it can be used without a case, so it is ideal for mounting it as long as I do not dive deeper than 10 meter/33 ft. its field of view is very wide.
I did not lock the screen so the fps and stabilization in some footage changed on their own, but by locking the screen the problem should be solved. I prefer the GoPro Hero 10 has really nice-looking footage. but that one I use on its own.
