I'm one of the beginners' coaches at my club, and transitioning students from single throws into randori can be tricky. This is a great explanation of how to start building a randori system - thanks!
i like sasae, osoto gari and ashi guruma as the basic system, with osoto makikomi, yoko tomenage and ura nage mostly used as counter/ scramble type throws
liking this.. daughter is implementing O'Goshi into her wrestling style.. this will totally work with her single and double leg snake system she's been using. Awesome practice to get into.. Thank you for sharing.
Great video took me yrs to work this out just got back to judo as leftie like hiza ippon on weak side right uchi gari ko uchi back throws and tai toshi with different grips main throw
😂 Not me, for sure! I practice Karate, and I plan on learning Judo further down the path, in order to become a more well-rounded martial artist. Sensei Shintaro's videos are great and easy to understand!
Can you do a video on where leg grab attacks fit into the system? I've been having a lot of success with a snap down, knee tap, ouchi system in nogi and MMA sparring
My 3: forward/turning Uchimata into ouchi/Tani otoshi into any forward makikomi... Usually i full commit to each so as to get a reaction every time then faint repeat etc...I'd say it works sometimes'ish. Lol
Who is calling you in the middle of your video?! They show no respect! Seriously, though, thanks for showing these as combinations. For a beginner like me, it's all very confusing -- we can barely walk! This makes combos easier to understand. Thanks! Oh, and the uber presumptive "my system" would be: always step forward with opposite foot (Your L to their R, and vice versa): Nage waza: -deashi harai -kosoto gaki -tai otoshi (drop otoshi/mawashi otoshi) (aka, fat guy falls down while holding you and turning)
@@bombastikderteutone6858 isn’t “getting over” one’s self just the point? I’m constantly seeing big egos trying to shove technique down an opponent throat. Does it ever really work that way? When you see a beautifully executed technique, look closely- it’s always because the opponent leads the movement. Perhaps in response to something or in an attempt at something. But it is their movement being taken advantage of.
shintaro, have you ever thought about how the belt system in judo is bad for Asians in America??? Think about it, every white boy with a black belt thinks he's some kind of authority over any Asian in martial arts just from that piece of cloth. Think newborn, young 5-7 year old young Asian boys looking to explore what it means to become an Asian man, having to go into a dojo with all these white guys doing what could be considered "cultural appropriation"(white guys doing Judo), thinking that somehow cause they have this belt that they have some sort of rank in an Asian social structure. Like it or not it martial arts for whatever reason is tied into what it means to be an Asian man. Why just confer rank to any old outsider (white, black, whatever) to anyone who walks into the dojo? It creates issues. Imagine basketball had some colored jerseys to denote rank and there were a bunch of Asians and whites and indians with black jerseys. a young black boy had to acknowledge the rank of all these people while he trains before he can "rank" above them. I assure you there wouldn't be as many black guys in the NBA if the pipeline for pro basketball players had the kind of color belt system judo has. That being said the greatest judoka of all time is Japanese, Yasuhiro Yamashita, the undefeated best. What if the belt system was replaced with what they do in Historical European Martial Arts. Here is a wikipedia page: Schola Gladiatoria, that is a school of HEMA. They only have 3 ranks: 1) Scholars are those students who are no longer considered beginners and have attained a certain level of knowledge and competency. They should be safe, have learned the basic principles of the art, be able to consistently perform basic techniques and should be able to explain what they are doing and why. 2) Free Scholars are able to assist with teaching due to having trained for much longer and learned much more. They should have a much deeper understanding of the art and be able to convey that knowledge. Their martial abilities should be solid and proven. 3) Provosts are able to regularly lead classes, present to large groups of people and exhibit notably deeper and broader levels of knowledge. They should have demonstrated their martial abilities widely. Imagine if Asian martial arts embraced the following rank system. It'd be so, so much better for young Asian martial artists. There's no reason an Asian man learning about being an Asian man (martial artist) should have to look to some random wearing a cloth with a certain color as somehow ranked above him. Maybe you could do some good for the world by "rebelling" against the Judo establishment and establishing your own school with the above ranking system. Considering your all-around grappling style, you could create your own branch of Japanese grappling that abolishes the belt system. I think as someone (you) whose had plenty of success with women, knows that there's something about authority that draws women in. Thoughts?

Sasae - Kosoto - Taiotoshi

Sasae - Uchimata - Taniotoshi

Osoto - Sasae - left Seoi

You are excellent at breaking things down into manageable pieces and then putting them together into a lesson. Great instruction!

That was... in a nutshell. I have always thought two steps, and never really thought about that higher grip advantage.
My sambo coach told me you fake in one direction to throw in the other, but this way of thinking the throw system is more 3D I like it
Perfect, just what I was looking for,
I’m a Jiujitsu Black belt.
Thank you
i like sasae, osoto gari and ashi guruma as the basic system, with osoto makikomi, yoko tomenage and ura nage mostly used as counter/ scramble type throws
My "system" is what ive been looking to develop! Thanks sensei!
This might be the video I've needed for a while
Great! These are the type of tips that I was looking for 20 yrs ago from my coach. I have to learn these the hard way! Nice job.
you are one of the best and thank you a lot for your effort and everything you do for judo community!!
liking this.. daughter is implementing O'Goshi into her wrestling style.. this will totally work with her single and double leg snake system she's been using. Awesome practice to get into.. Thank you for sharing.
I like Osoto-Seoi Nage... I catch people with that constant because they change their angle perfect for it
level of these vids goes up & up, way2go
For me it usually goes osoto, then osoto feint into sasae, then sasae feint into ouchi, then left handed ippon seoi
Sensei you're the best 💪, thanks
Great video took me yrs to work this out just got back to judo as leftie like hiza ippon on weak side right uchi gari ko uchi back throws and tai toshi with different grips main throw
Also use tanitoshi alot
Incredibly helpful, thank you
I'm very, very late with this one... but a great video for a beginner like me. Thank you.
Pure gold.
Nice! I can apply this to my jujitsu
thanks alot pleas we want more like this moves
Really good. So simple.
Nice...left vs right next please
The way you fake the turn throw is so nice
All killer, no filler
Awesome ideas! Thank you!!
The only person who disliked this video... Karate man for sure lol

Maybe the dislikes are because he forgot to put the link for the other guy's channel
Ha ha😂
Very negative.
Unity is far better.
Bruce Lee would have got nowhere with that attitude.
Or BJJ man
love it. I love your channel always good.
Brilliant
Love it!
Keep it simple and easy.
I’m a lefty where do I go for videos like this?
Love the concept...would you make any significant changes for Right vs Left?
Very nice
@Higashi Sensei, you should do a video on the third leg principle of Judo since noone else on youtube has done so yet.
Nice
Can you do a video on where leg grab attacks fit into the system? I've been having a lot of success with a snap down, knee tap, ouchi system in nogi and MMA sparring
What other "bad side," throws can we use in place of Sasae?
Could you do an in depth video of hari
My 3: forward/turning Uchimata into ouchi/Tani otoshi into any forward makikomi... Usually i full commit to each so as to get a reaction every time then faint repeat etc...I'd say it works sometimes'ish. Lol
Yessir
Can you do a video like this for opposite stance
Love the simplicity. Is osoto gari considered a back throw?
Sir i want to train in your dojo
can we get this exact video for nogi????
Can you show us some judo techniques were you grab the legs? I’m also a shorter person I like sase alot lol. Can’t do left ippon.
Can you do this from opposite stance
It's fun to watch a bjj guy attempt to be a good uki(partner).
Isn't the name "uke"?
@@joatanpereira4272 probally, I cant even spell in english.
Sasae osoto ouchi gari and turn throw a good idea?
Try uchi mata or harai goshi. Uchi off your ouchi gari and harai off of osoto
Does this still work well for left vs right?
Who is calling you in the middle of your video?! They show no respect!

What's a good system for hitting Sumi? That's my go to throw in jiu-jistu.
I know 3 moves so this will be great
What about same concept right verse left?
(I'm tall:) Sasae, Ouchi Gari, Uchi Mata. Is that good? (Also: is uchi mata the easiest turn throw?)
1:11 and 2:04
Can you breakdown the basic system for open stance or RvL? Is it still 1) weak side, 2) backwards, 3) forwards?
Niceeuuh
Yo Professor Sensei!? Is this Kashiwazaki 101?
Sorry I haven’t been watching videos lately but this is a break one!
Can you show the same with leg grabs?
Why does the left hand need to grip first against a right handed player?
Osoto-sasae-uchimata(ken ken cause im a scrub lol)
The correct strategy is the one your opponent asks for
get over yourself

When back means both forward and back, wnd when weak side could mean left or right 😂

A foot sweep.
Yay!! No more masks.

Go back on your meds. all this nonsense about Cultural Appropriation, and a pick up artist dojo. Go outside more.
Casually racist comment. Sweet.
