    Good instructional video! (Almost) Everything you need to get shooting full butterfly! I said almost seeing you can't give us the practice to get your accuracy! Your "crazy fast bands" ROCK! Thanks for sharing the knowledge gained from all your testing! Really shortens the "learning curve" for the rest of us!

    Hello,
    I`m right handed and left eye dominat. The left eye thing is the reason for holding my slingshot with the right hand. If you are right eye dominat, you can/should hold the slingshot with your left hand.

    pouch hold 2 looks like its gonna bump.. do you aim different for each pouch hold types? maybe it does bump, but as your bands are so long it bumps clean over the tight forks.. try those with a non curvy thumb (lolz, yours are almost a semi circle)

    when you aim in butterfly style, does the band actually contact your cheek? Like an anchor point...

    • @alastairhay2806
      @alastairhay2806 3 роки тому

      Your anchor point is the bands gently touching your cheek hairs, so there is no contact whatsoever

    I use this style because it delivers much more speed at the same draw weight.
    I think that increases MY accuracy - the more draw weight, the more shaking the slingshot...
    But I think the short draw style is not less accurate. It`s a question of personal preferences and, yes, practice

    same at me: I`m right handed and hold the slingshot in my right hand, draw with the left.
    It has something to do with the dominant eye: the left eye is my dominant eye, so I can have a better view at the target when I draw with the left hand.

    If you use TB blue for high speed bands it last much longer than TBG.
    It makes not much difference if you use it for slow target bands. The advantage from TB blue: you need much less draw weight to get the same speed as with TBG bands.
    The advantage from TBG: you don`t need multiple layers to make a (target) band.

    Torsten, what exactly are you lining up or aiming? Are you looking over the top of the slingshot or looking through between the two posts or are you just looking at the target and shooting instinctivly?

    How do you aim how do you get anchor point correct every time? I believe I can do it n figure out my self I am just curious if you have a specific way obv I know about normal short style shooting catty short draw I shoot ott using top edge of fork tip for reference point and my anchor point is index knuckle in my nostril and my thumb nail in corner of my mouth at edge of my lip I change elevation with different ammo weights Ido what works for me as it seems to work for me all the time etc so I'm guessing with full butterfly draw maybe the centre of your body your head maybe your nose acts as a type of anchor showing you you have correct elevation I have no clue I'm guessing as I go am I nearly correct or as am I totally no where near correct... I love learning I only got my first catty last month but been educating myself for months before that listening to the slingshot gurus advice and reading convos on forums about dif tapers etc and it so interesting it really has so
    Many variables it is a science even down to temperature tapers and band thickness and ammo size weight and material all at significant role in how the ballistics will register AWESOME bro stay blessed from the uk.....PEACE

    a question: have you ever hit your head using this style. I really think it is possible.
    btw, it looks so easy to shoot in this way. nice and informative vid

  • @1611torsten
    @1611torsten  12 років тому +2

    @fluteplayer38
    I hold the slingshot sideways while shooting.
    I do not really aim, I`m a more instinctive shooter. I bring the bands exactly in one line with the target and then I focus the target and see the slingshot in the edge of my sight. When I have the feeling I have the right position (hight of the slingshot) I do release the shot.
    The point of the release is more a thing of the right feeling for me.
    I tried to aim earlier, but it doesn`t work for me.

    hello.
    after one week of training and one bad release ( injured face) i am now shooting on 50m cca 35-37cm circle. the nearest shot to the point of aim is 21cm.
    i have got pocket poacher II - dankung. i dont know bands ( from czech factory) and shooting bearings 14mm. i must to learn my brain to remember the elevation. on 20m i have a 20cm circle group. your video helps me to learn this style. cheers Peter

    @1611torsten  12 років тому

    @SchwarzerKanal110
    No, nearly every common slingshot design is ok. Even with a very small gap between the forks.
    But you need longer bands for this style. Something around 25cm effective band length. A bit more for less speed and longer band life,a bit less for more speed and less band life.

  • @1611torsten
    @1611torsten  12 років тому

    You even not necessarily need a "fork"! In Africa they use only a stick with a rubber band as a slingshot. And this thing is also rebuild by other slingshooters - it works - even without a fork.
