    I think you could change your strategy on the rolling walkers and any similar items and do really well. They're very niche items, not something your average liquidator shopper would buy. I'd create a bunch of flyers with prices and drop them off at your local Senior Centers, 55+ Retirement communities, etc. There's a lot of very pricey 55+ condo communities/retirement communities/assisted living combo communities that are very all inclusive with fitness centers, housekeeping service, catered daily meals etc. They usually have big communal gathering areas with an area for posting items for sale. I'm sure if you dropped those flyers off with the Social Worker or Activity Director they'd post it or pass it on to folks who might be interested. Same with Senior Center directors. Bet you sell every one. Another option would be to post them in your local Buy/Sell/Garage Sale groups. A lot of adult children may snatch them up for their aging parents. ☺️

    For those desks I know you can’t show them assembled but I’d take the photo from the boxes and blow them up to a decent size so people can see them properly
    I agree with the suggestions about advertising the walkers (and adult pads)

    For the special buy area I do think you should consider a sign saying "Want to buy a lot? Ask us for a deal." Let your cashiers give 10% on the special buy prices, and negoitiate yourself for real lots. When people think they have negotiated a deal they buy more, and suddenly somebody buys 10 desks to flip or whatever.

    Hopefully you can get totally organized before you get in another truck. I had to laugh as you had quite the mess going on in your warehouse. Glad you did good for the 2nd part of your sale. I bet lots of people already have desks from you know what going on when schools had e-learning. I hope you can find some place to buy all of your elderly items. Once again, Rabbit, thanks so much for recording these for us who love to watch them!!! I appreciate it.

    You have almost reached the point of needing to have a little more space dedicated to the sale. Have you considered having and area for say $10 day that you then just cover up, close off and remove from the lower dollar days?

    Good job !! But I think the economy won't do well for at least the first half of 2023. So, if I were you , I'd go after the cheaper item pallets . And wait and see how much the price drops per pallet on the more expensive items going threw liquidators .
    Maybe you could sell those walkers to senior groups, or disabled groups ?

    • @johnhaas2523
      @johnhaas2523 Рік тому +1

      It isn't going to be good probably next 2 years because some want to cut soical security and Medicare and shit before raise the debt ceiling so government can pay bills and the fight will probably mean the government runs out of money to pay bills

  • @lynnedelacy2841
    @lynnedelacy2841 Рік тому +1

    Here’s a wild idea for selling the walkers - approach a marketing course at a local college, get them to use marketing and selling of them as a project and offer them 25% of the sale price as an incentive to the college fund or to individual students
    It will give the students insight to the silver surfer / older market and it would be good for them to have a live money making project to work on
    I did a direct marketing course and we had the project of selling local coach tours to the local seniors - who like my parents would go on regular tours to get out of the house without having to drive - I digress but a real live project for students puts meat on the bones of the theory
    Perhaps you could sweeten the deal by giving the students a talk as an insight into reselling Win win I’d say

    I suspect that the customers think if you have a lot of something, and it's not selling, they just have to come back the next day to get a better price. So just putting out one or two is probably a good strategy.
    Since your carrying forward a lot of stuff into 2023, I would imagine taking end-of-year inventory will be a lot of work.
    You should probably contact hospitals and nursing homes to try to unload the walkers - somebody might buy the whole lot if the price is right.

      Putting out only 1 or 2 of the desks and other big items makes sense. Seeing a big stack of them and people will just wait for a better deal.

    Mini brands recently came out with a new series (series 4, I'm guessing you have series 3). Retail wise, they'll be selling at clearance prices. The money in those are on the secondary market with people looking to complete their collection and aren't able to get series 3 in the store anymore. Try lotting them up in packs of 6, 12, etc. They will sell for way more than $3.50/unit.

  • @kck7961
    @kck7961 Рік тому +3

    You should consider putting your larger special buy items closer to the front exit. That way they don’t have to carry them around and they can just get them when checking out

    The Mini Brands you had were series toys series 2, they have been clearanced from Target that’s why they were $3.50. They recently updated all the Mini Brands, the current lines they have out are Mini Brands! Series 4, Mini Brands! Toys Series 3, Mini Brands Foodie, Mini Brands Fashion Series 2, and Mini Brands Disney Store Edition Series 2. Any others are older lines.

    If you're gonna dust off every one of those hats or slippers, you need to dump the entire box first; otherwise you'll be sifting all that dust onto every item to the bottom.
    Does that make sense?? The ones on bottom may be OK. But if you take out item by item by item, you will thoroughly get dust on everything below it.
    Dump the whole thing.

    My favorite thing about Hy-Vee is buying Lobster and having the Seafood staff steam it for me! I hate cooking Lobster. (I always overcook it.) I got lucky one day and they had there Lobster tails marked down to 50% because of the short exp date and they let me buy 2-2pk packages!! They steamed all 4 and I had 2 for dinner and 2 the next day for lunch!! 😎

    My 2 cents on the "Long Island Deli". I've always found that when a place calls itself something like Chicago Pizza and it's in Alabama. It's probably bad. I hope that it's not the case in this instance. I'd hate my hometown to be done wrong.

    Steak and Shake is extremely well done, I don't remember if I actually read a book or look deeply into their history.. they also have morphed themselves, over time, to react to the market, especially in the Union Square area of New York City.. I think there's one down in the South Bay.. I have In-N-Out Burgers closer, or fell off the truck food, I can get restaurant style meat, they have some nice buffalo burger patties, vacuum sealed two at a time... and if I'm lucky they have some of those really good kosher buns from some place in New York... eating like a queen at ghetto prices.... for a while they had Frozen 1/2 lb Kobe beef patties in Six Packs god those were good..LAXVESPA-LOSANGELES
