You hoo, first to comment! Been following the build from the beginning. Cant say I like the new wheels, to me, on video, they look out of proportion relative to the vehicle and the wheel arches.
The 928 is a good candidate for electric conversion. Its V8ness isn't a defining characteristic the way a 911 flat 6 or ferrari v12 is DNA. What is 928 DNA is efforless range. They came factory with 90 or so litres of fuel and 500+ km range... if you nail range and the solid feel on the road this could be a great project.
They can both crawl on land. But your point is valid - turtles can reach a speed of 1 mph on land, much faster than tortoises (0.1 to 0.3 mph). No wonder they're so aerodynamic. I had to look it up.
Another great vid, good progress you 2 are making Once those front wheels are tucked into guards should look much better Looking forward to it not being in Turtle/Tortoise mode
Sounds almost exactly the same as the person who rear ended me. Trying to pass tissues back to their cranky kids and didn't notice traffic had stopped. I sympathise.
I hope not. HV cables to the battery are on the back side of the battery box so I think the front is good. And they're further from the front than they were in the donor MG. But at the rear, yes the HV plugs under the invertor are quite close to the rear of the car so we need to check that too.
Its coming along nicely Stu 👍
Wheels are too big. Looks funny.
Should look a lot better when we drop the ride height right down. And I stop using such a wide-angle lens. GIves it a fish-eye look.
Fantastic! Although that front wheel is perilously close to the guard still. Can’t wait to go for a ride.
I've got a couple of booster pumps if you need one.
Fantastic. Yes please Wayne. That'd be very helpful.
Whoo-hoo. Look at it go! It's coming along. How exciting.

I think they'll look better when we drop the ride height. At the moment it looks like a Safari car.

Great work, Stu. Keep 'em coming.
This is coming together, what a project.
Look forward to Mark having a punt.
928 is still a beautiful car! 🥰😍🤩
Gets better every year too. Like a fine wine
great to see the progress its very exciting!
wow.....nice work......I love my 1991 S4.......
Turtle mode!? Does that mean it can swim? Surely it is tortoise mode. 😁

The old V8 lumps were notoriously juicy..

That front end needs to be lowered.
We will. And the rear. New springs and shocks after the next weigh-in.
Looking great, will it be a compliance issue having those high voltage cables to the motor so close to the front bumper impact zone?
I hope not. HV cables to the battery are on the back side of the battery box so I think the front is good. And they're further from the front than they were in the donor MG. But at the rear, yes the HV plugs under the invertor are quite close to the rear of the car so we need to check that too.
@@inCARnationAustraliasorry yes I meant rear ! Great stuff. Right now I’d just settle for my 928 boot closing properly :)
Can these electric Restomods be re-registered to allow them into “ non ICE vehicle” clean air zones?
wheels were a big booboo werent they? Reminds me of a Mattel product from the 60s.
