He does it a few times, he probably figured it wasn't worth it. He even got punished for trying it in I think the second game.
go into training mode and try to inhale the fire hydrant, for some reason, it needs to be done at a more specific distance than usual. being point blank on the hydrant won't inhale it for some reason. Ergo being at a specific distance during a match creates more margin for error
