Why is Antony soo left footed that he can’t even control the ball with his right, as a professional footballer you should be able to move the ball relatively smoothly with your weaker foot. It’s normal
Re Martinez. Metatarsal injuries are bad news. Re Bayinder. Maybe that’s what happens if you never get a game. Re the result. The team selection tells you the league cup was below the Leagye and the Europa in Amorims priorities - and he’s right.
The Butcher has been taking longer and longer on the ball lately. It's Maguire-esque. Must be a mental thing. Also, why won't Antony take players on? He CAN actually dribble very very well. What happened to him?
Confidence is Antony's big issue. Two key events screwed him up. 1: Spin-gate. He got meme'd so much for it and it really destroyed his confidence. That kind of play is what made him good. If you take that flair away, then he is just ordinary. 2: The allegations. Although they seem to have been largely unfounded, the way he was dragged through the media and has to defend himself seems to have really crippled him. I still think there is a good player in Antony. I just don't know if hebwill be able to let it out while playing for United. He reminds me of Richarlison when he was playing awful at Spurs. He was able to play through it and get past it because of the lower expectations at Sours. At United I just don't think Antony has the willpower.
Just good to see an enthusiasm to play football again. Alot of work to do but there are definite things to look forward to. Lets see what a few transfer windows do as well. But most of all, I'm glad to see some fight in the team. Lets go 💪
If you look at footage of Bayindir before he joined us, there was nothing promising about him as a goalkeeper but he was cheap and I guess they hoped he could improve
Bottom line for me was the team is making progress.. we are seeing the weaknesses that need to be addressed.. Amorim knows how to swing a game when we are down and even though we lost we did dominate for large periods.. Bayendir had a shocker but so did the defence
Even at 3 - 0 down I thought we could still do something, particularly when the subs came on. Amorim has learnt a bit more about his squad, fair play he's giving everyone a chance. The gulf in quality between Anthony and Amad is unbelievable. If you didn't know them you'd say Amad was the £80M buy. Thought Hojlund looked poor again, he needs to be careful, a January loan striker will put him on the bench. The trouble with having a back-up keeper is that's what they are, just a back-up. However, everyone expects them to play at the same level of the regular keeper but they never get minutes for match sharpness. It's like starting an outfield squad player who's not played for months and expect them to rip it up. Not sure what the answer is though, Bayindir had a poor game and you've got to have a lot of trust in your keeper and he's probably lost that. Wouldn't be surprised if he moves on in the summer and they get an upgrade back-up keeper.
If they looking to replace martinez, we have a 6ft5 monster in the youth academy but also i recommended in the summer was pierro hincapie from leverkusen
Thought zirkzee caused more problems that hoijlund when he came on spurs had more difficuties with his profile and there seems more of a spring in his step since amorim arrived. Early doors but promising.
@@Mintomania007 lol but the stats don’t bare out the criticism. He is actually a great goalkeeper but we fans are always reactionary. He could play ten good games and have a bad game and be labeled awful. DeGae had changers yet we idolize him after ten seasons. Onana has been here two weeks and we are ready to hang him lol. Make it make sense
After rewatching the highlights, I'm going to shift some blame away for the 2nd goal off licha, ugarte was tracking Kulusevski and lost him in the box, got ahead off him and wasn't paying attention, yeah the "clearance" from Martinez wasn't great but ugarte should of been on him Still one of the better players on the night
Just want Amorim to start playing the same 11 where possible now particularly the defence I get why he has wanted to see everyone but clearly Lindelof and Evans are done and we need a better wing back than Dalot
Believe it or not. Martinez is not immune to growing pains in the new tactical system. Martinez hasn't gotten to grips yet with the defensive distances in a 3. Same as Dalot at wingback. It will change givent ime. Training time hasn't been enough to fix it yet. Right now the squad is having full pre season smack bang in a competitive season, in front of prying eyes with less training time. Which is usually done away from parting ears with amole training ground time to iron out mistakes. I don't expect anything to settle down till the mini mid season break training camp in January
If Antony had even half a second foot then surely his output would be a little better. But it's obvious he doesn't have confidence in himself when forced onto his right boot. His quality is not up to scratch (understatement), but if he is getting minutes then why not chuck him out left so he can at least try and use his left foot to get the ball in the box.
Despite the loss I still enjoyed watching United last night for the following reasons - players gave a shit, they ran and fought until the final whistle. They also played with a style of play becoming clearer, and patterns evolving and looks like we're gaining an identity again on the pitch. Ugarte is right behind Mazraoui as buy of the season, Yoro looked decent too last night, and ofc, Amad played like Amad and his workrate and desire should be the standard for any player at United. Licha I think had a bad game but I think he could do with a rest for a couple games as he looked tired at times last night. Antony played like Antony though ;)
I'd say our defence is looking relatively strong, obviously it could be improved, but considering our tough financial situation it would seem nuts to me for us to splash any serious cash for another CB (though we could lose a few in the summer, which would change things) especially, when we so clearly need a couple of quality WB'S and at least one defencive midfielder and probably another number 10.
Even With all the rotations, Amorim has made United much better than last season where we are conceding 20 shots every match. Also we are creating better chances & the shape of the team has been very good.
Ugarte looks a serious football player. His constant refusal to use Casemiro tells me he's very likely to be a January sale. Eriksen also can not play at the intensity that Amorim wants, that was evident last night. Evans too. Keeper had a stinker. We also need more options at LWB, Dalot isn't left footed and he clearly doesn't trust Malacia at the min. It's also glaringly obvious that we're desperate for a CF, who is elite, right now. Not in the future.
The atributes that Martinez has, are the ones that everyone would love to see on a number 6. Loving Ugarte honestly, but Martinez is also agressive, can be fast enough and has a really long range pass in him.
Form a goalkeeper’s view of the performance. The first goal is not his fault. As a coach I’d be question the defence. The ball as moving in the air from the slow mo replays I saw. He just has to get a hand to the ball and hope the defence will do their job. The fourth one again isn’t great not his fault. Yes the Tottenham player is all over him and any little movement will distract you and out you off. But he should still be stronger.
Love amad obviously are best player . However did piss me off how manny times he tried to score from outside the box when we were on top at 3-2 and pinning them down . Top player though
Wow I feel super sorry for altay. He hardly gets a game. Yesterday’s performance is not bayindir. That’s a player short of confidence. He needs more games. I can’t bash him for that game.
Good points about Martinez ball watching like 4 others for the first goal. Played Spurs onside then lackadaisical touch led to the second and the third was poor as well, not engaging their striker and getting pushed past. The keeper should have had a free kick for the 4th goal. Ugarte, Amad top boys and we're never disappointed in Evans. I don't think we'll see this starting line up ever again.
I agree….wasnt even mad we lost…we looked GOOD in the second half…creating chances…fighting for the ball…if they call that foul, we may be going to PK’s…
Bastoni from Inter would be a great player to challenge and uplift Martinez, Im not saying he should replace him, i just think it would keep Licha on his toes. Plus, Bastoni is used to the 5 at the back system and he has the pace and strength to defend the channels.
Yeah, it does look like we are in a full pre season mode and maybe thats ok. To be honest, this season will not be a great one but if Anorim manage to map the players talents -or the lack of talents, he can convince the management to get rid of those not good enough and start planning what kind of players he need to get in. I’m totally onboard with that and are 100% confident we now have the right coach. That keeper was really bad and that cornergoal, l don’t even think he was fouled. Anthony missed another opportunity to prove himself, it really does’nt look good for him. I believe he has to go as soon as we are able to get rid of him. I’m not so worry about Martinez yet, but he did take some bad descision yesterday. You mentioned the off side situation, he also miss passed a ball straight to a spurs player just a few meters from the goal which instantly ended up bak in the net. The seven goals yesterday were mostly a result of big mistakes both ways. As usual, the one star that really shined were Amad and he will most likely be the only United player that brings home some trophees this season.
Martinez is just slowly adjusting to a back 3 give him time, my worries are Hojlund who seems to try get physical instead of getting to the ball earlier to hold it up and he doesn't get into goal scoring positions a few times players whipped it across the box and he was caught not in the right spots it's a worry, but mostly Kobie Mainoo has been poor mostly this year but especially since Ruben came I'm hoping it's just him learning the system and a bit of himbeing overplayed last season
Seeing that you’ve mentioned schlotterbeck why don’t we look at Hincapie? He’s rapid aggressive, excellent progressor of ball, already plays in a 3 also plays left back or left wing back plus he got that dog in him being South American only concern if Xabi goes to Madrid he’s definitely taking him
Are you on about that incredible 2 footed ball stamp challenge he got a card for?..that was the best challenge I've seen since the days of Jaap Stam. I think picking up a card for wizardry like that, when he is at the peak of his game, took the wind out of his sails unfortunately, because that's where it started to go down hill He'll be back.
Martinez has struggled a little this season, but I thought he was really solid in the back line against city. Hopefully a settled team will bring him back to his best
I kinda nott to bothered that we lost.Bayindir I like that we never gave up but fuck this cup let Tottenham have it which i think we don;'t! Newcastle i reckon coz there setup, there 2nd leg v Assna is home fortress so theres the tings. Ialso obviously do NOT want Liverpoo to retain it , as they might win the ....Quadruple!. So fingrers crossed here. Moving forward i see us getting a lil better Yoro will bed in, Zirkzee starting to play more and the January window coming.
I'm okay with some rotation but starting a new keeper along with a new back 3 combination was risky at best, dumb really and made us look terrible in defence - We were 30 yards from the pitch and lindelof, martinez, keeper looked nervous on the ball - I cannot see the point of rotating keepers.
Well like he said this is the system that he know. And now only few options player's available can fix/understand with system. So rotation need coz of limitations of players whose fit with his system
I'm not really bothered we lost. I'm just happy we no longer get outplayed and put under relentless pressure in away games. But our toughest test will be newcastle and liverpool away. If we manage to show the same calmness then we will have a good foundation for next season
On thing that we learned from the game was United need to seriously look at there goal keeping coach . Yes Bayindir made a howler from the corner for the fourth goal . But Onana was no better against Arsenal from corners .I also believe that the reserve keeper needs to play about ten games a season. You actually need some game time to perform well when asked So Steve what can you tell us about Uniteds goal keeping coach
I thought Martinez and Yoro were poor, honestly. Yoro was very much like a dog chasing a ball. He doubled up on the ball carrier and left his runner conpletely open for one of the goals. He had a good tackle on Son but that was pretty much it.
I wasn’t even fussed that we lost. I was just happy to see us have a style of play, aggression and passion. I need Hojlund to fix up though

Lets go 💪
Yoro maguire de ligt, that's your brickwall defence right there.
We'll give them that one. Awesome corner by Son...we don't want the League Cup any way. All good in the hood
If you look at footage of Bayindir before he joined us, there was nothing promising about him as a goalkeeper but he was cheap and I guess they hoped he could improve
He was a Turkish international, you can’t tell me that he was a nobody when we bought him
Bottom line for me was the team is making progress.. we are seeing the weaknesses that need to be addressed..
6:29 not so nice to spit in our faces like that
😂😂😂
I remember klopp had these same inconsistencies probably in his first 2 years.
Great assessment in Bayin-OH-dir, please be as honest about Onana when he plays. Several times you have been a bit too kind.
What ??? lol onana is the most criticized player at Manchester United.
And rightly so...but recently Ste has refrained from being direct about it under the guise of stats.
After rewatching the highlights, I'm going to shift some blame away for the 2nd goal off licha, ugarte was tracking Kulusevski and lost him in the box, got ahead off him and wasn't paying attention, yeah the "clearance" from Martinez wasn't great but ugarte should of been on him
Still one of the better players on the night
It's the 3rd goal that was more of a concern for Martinez
Lucky spurs GK also bad player. So the club still make a goals.
What's happened to Casimero should be getting more game time especially with Ugarte
Just want Amorim to start playing the same 11 where possible now particularly the defence I get why he has wanted to see everyone but clearly Lindelof and Evans are done and we need a better wing back than Dalot
I think we will see Licha back in form once we have a LWB in the team, he's being left exposed by Dalot who must be knackered and it's showing.
3-0 down and I wanted evidence that things are not going to be the same old and implosion, feel bit more positive for the future
Martine is definitely a concern. Perhaps lazy to look at another Sporting player but I do think Ignacio could be a good target for LCB this summer
We need to get rid of aging players
Eriksen was our best player first half
@@Fobber1980 he did well
Bit harsh on Bayinder. plays one game a year, needs more time
Is it possible that Martinez could he converted to a defending midfielder where he can help in front of the defense and distribute?
Seems obvious.
Amorim is class pure and simple.the progression is palpable. No nonsense sensible decisions. The future is bright the future is red.
Yes please on the video on martinez, can't make sense of it myself he's gone from a defender I wouldn't swap for ANYONE to one I worry about
Good points about Martinez ball watching like 4 others for the first goal.
Fans will probably blame Rashford for Bayindir and Martinez performance last night…
Bayendir also had to deal with the uncertain defense of MU.
Can u now give Onana some flowers !!
Bastoni from Inter would be a great player to challenge and uplift Martinez, Im not saying he should replace him, i just think it would keep Licha on his toes. Plus, Bastoni is used to the 5 at the back system and he has the pace and strength to defend the channels.
Zirkzee has more prem goals then Hojlund n fans wanted to hate on Zirkzee hmm smh 👎
They both have potential
bro liked his own comment 💀💀
@@DanielAy_yup n 10 others u 🤡
I mean they both have less than 4 prem goal Rashford so I don't think either of them come out v well
The difference is, hojland looks like a striker who will score goals. Zirkzee looks like a player who can't see past the end of his nose.
Yeah,
it does look like we are in a full pre season mode and maybe thats ok.
I never want to see Anthony in a United shirt ever again.
Ugarte is the real deal. Mainoo is developing but with he had a bit more speed.
The progress of system installment is going nicely
Martinez would be better as defensive midfield.
He made a great save
Seeing that you’ve mentioned schlotterbeck why don’t we look at Hincapie? He’s rapid aggressive, excellent progressor of ball, already plays in a 3 also plays left back or left wing back plus he got that dog in him being South American only concern if Xabi goes to Madrid he’s definitely taking him
Licha was doing some questionable things under ETH this season too. Wonky 2 foot challenges and stuff.
Are you on about that incredible 2 footed ball stamp challenge he got a card for?..that was the best challenge I've seen since the days of Jaap Stam. I think picking up a card for wizardry like that, when he is at the peak of his game, took the wind out of his sails unfortunately, because that's where it started to go down hill
He'll be back.
Think the injuries have hampered his defensive game which was on the edge even before.
Martinez has struggled a little this season, but I thought he was really solid in the back line against city. Hopefully a settled team will bring him back to his best
Hope spurs win it tbh.. i like ange..
Despite the inconsistent results of late, the progress is there for all to see. GGMU
Would love that video - what he did / what he’s doing!
Keeper was poor but we've never blooded him. Has he been playing? Who for? Feel a bit sorry for him.
Gotta give Solanke credit, he has taken big steps recently..
Get Van der Ven is LCB
Part of Martinez problem is that Dalot (and sometimes Malacia) is playing on the same side!
Yoooo! That last bit of the vid 🤣⏸️
Been saying we should play Martinez with ugarte for a try I think he’d be a better CDM
Lisandro had 18 months out and it's not uncommon after a player comes back for a form dip. I wouldn't worry too much just yet.
Can someone tell me why I felt better after that game than beating City away???
Me too - strange 👍
We need to talk about Hojlund...Not good enough upfront, nothing to do about "service"...
amad im loving it nice too see him getting games and showing what a waste of money antony has been.
Nuno mendes would be a good signing for that left side
That bayandir is awful he’s looked poor everytime he’s played should sell
Him and bring kovar back
We changed our entire defensive structure mid season. Martinez has earned the opportunity to get the off-season to work it out.
Stuart you as a coach should understand that Martinez is a centre half he is not good as a 3 man back 3
I thought Martinez and Yoro were poor, honestly. Yoro was very much like a dog chasing a ball. He doubled up on the ball carrier and left his runner conpletely open for one of the goals. He had a good tackle on Son but that was pretty much it.
Bayin-oh-dir… producer Ethan will be proud
Watching Dalot and Bruno this season has been incredibly frustrating
Mistakes cost us a game by doing that many in 90 min there is no hope for positive results simple as that
