It depends. Some states allow spouses some wiggle room with this but originally there was none. She can go at him in civil or criminal court but she would need a lawyer and see what her options are to get the money back. Her case is much better if he has an addiction to say gambling or expenses and/or racked up big debts she doesn’t know about.

This is so sad. I feel the pain in this victim's heart. Saving like that isn't easy at all and regardless if it's right or smart her showing it to her friends the situation she described sounds almost unavoidable and it sounds like maybe these girls were working hair together trying to get a bag in the woman's house. It's not uncommon many POC don't trust banks, may be in checxsystems unable to get a bank account for a few years. The funds may also be illegally obtained, don't wanna pay taxes on it. Banks and IRS clock all your bank funds after 10k.
