Thanks Carol for the great podcast…you and your husband are very gracious with your talents…there is an old African saying…”when an old person dies, we lose a Library”…that is very true…congratulations on your sampler finish…the kitted samplers are beautiful…great news about your quilting podcasts…I appreciate everything you two do to enrich our life…stay safe and happy stitching❤️

Like you I may start to thaw something for dinner and change my mind before it has thawed. The idea of a separate quilt episode is a great idea. Thank you for doing these videos, I love every one of them. I have quilted for a long time and cross stitched and then took a long break before coming back to cross stitching the last couple of years.

Hi Carol, my friend! I love to stitch and watch British murder mysteries, too! And Vera is also my favorite! I also love her books and her friend, Anne Cleeves’ books. They are both awesome! I can’t wait to see your new quilt videos and your quilting. That Dear Jane quilt is really going to be fun to watch you do. That takes a lot of perseverance!! Stay warm and happy stitching til next time!! ❄️☃️❄️🧵🪡💕💕💕

Carol to me you are the most amazing stitcher I know...they are all so beautiful. I do not know how young I was sewing all my clothes. I do remember sewing the dresses I have photos of in the 5th grade. My Mom would take us to a chicken house farm to pick out our feed sack fabric. I have that sewing machine still. My Mom never would let us quilt. My grandmother hand made & sold quilts out of her home that the money was used to build a church. Up until a few years ago the celebrated one day each year in her honor because of those quilts she dedicated toward the church still standing. She was a midwife, she did doctor children & mother of 13 children. My grandfather was a Justice of Peace & carpenter of hand cut out furniture.

Hi Carol, I have to say you make me laugh! I love your sense of humor, the little rabbit holes you go down and when your "shipment" comes in I hope its amazing, lol! Like you said, that would be amazing, right?! Beautiful work on the Snooty Parrots, wow! I just started the border on All Creatures great and Small. I have never ever stitched anything that size and am a bit intimidated. One stitch at a time and enjoy the process. I am so excited for your quilting videos🎉🎉 The few quilts of yours that I have seen are so gorgeous, including he sawtooth quilt behind you! Hope you are staying warm! Like you, I enjoy cross stitching, wool appliqué and making quilts. Carol, Loved this video so much. Thank you for doing them. You are my very favorite flosstube stitcher. I am amazed at all you accomplish. I laughed out loud when you gave your 'weather report" and people wearing parkas and mittens when it is in the 50's, originally from Iowa I too know what below zero feels like. You have inspired me to get going again on Amy Eliza Herbert & to restart on 32ct tin roof ( originally started on 28 ct raw ). Looking forward to your quilting videos. As a longtime quilter I have long admired Jane Stickles civil war quilt, so am looking forward to that journey as well. Take care and stay warm whatever that requires!!!

Your Snooty Parrots sampler is so pretty! I have no idea how you get things finished so quickly! Stay warm, it is cold for FL! Ohio is going to get another storm starting on Wednesday, so I'm going to stay home and stitch!

Hi Carol, love your sense of humor, it’s very like our British sense of humor, only we don’t tend to have to explain ourselves as we Brits, get the gist of the joke,. Love your work it’s beautiful. You make me laugh, with your ‘senior moments’, love it, you are so refreshing. When you laugh at yourself. You are so knowledgeable about cross stitch. Love your mention of Vera, we are retired and have our holiday home , a caravan based in Northumberland, it’s a magical place we spend as much time as possible up there.

Well you certainly inspired me with your blue one patch quilt. I have some jelly rolls that are red/cream and I was thinking 🤔 “should use those up and make a quilt like Olivia B”. Keep quilting please!!! Try some mini quilts to get your mojo back. And ps…I made an all white quilt years ago for a friend to give as a bridal shower gift for her daughter. And while machine quilting it on my sewing machine, the needle went right through my finger. Tip of the day…. Your own spit(saliva) will get out your own blood from a white quilt. That’s why I now have a long arm. 😂 😂😂

I will be 72 this year, so I identify with two of your concerns: will I live long enough to finish my stitching and quilting projects and who will want the things I have made? Then, I look at my mom who just turned 94 and is still quilting, so there is hope! She has a boat load of quilts, and thankfully, lots of grandkids to inherit. Keep stitching and making your videos. We love them.

Had such a laugh about the weather and how people bundle up. My daughter has asked if I will leave all the quilts I’ve made to her in my Will. No, you will have to take turns. “But how will we decide?” Not my problem, I won’t be here! I look forward to your quilting videos!!! I was quilting while watching tonight. I did counted cross stitch in the 80’s, started quilting in ‘86 and in the last few months picked up the cross stitch again. I live in Lincoln, Nebraska and not far from the International Quilt Museum.

Loved seeing all your samplers and listening to your plans! I, too, am a quilter so I would LOVE to see your quilts. I think I started quilting around 1975. I remember sitting on my bed in the college dorm and hand piecing Bear Paw. (Nerd alert!) I just fininshed piecing and appliqueing "Harvest Basket" from BBD "When the Cold WInd Blows," the third quilt I made from that book. Love their quilt designs as well as cross stitch!

I’m very excited about your quilting channel. I quilt a little but I would love tips and inspiration. I’m unsure of doing a difficult quilt like Dear Jane. I look forward to your first quilting video.❤️❤️

Hi Carol, yes to the quilting videos, I've been quilting since 1981, seeing what others are working on is inspirational. Love your stitching videos also. I also have a large stash of cross stitch suppliers.they all said by the stash before retirement. ..lol first retirement was 2015...second retirement from nursing was 2021...40 yrs of full time nursing....time to stitch in my new studio.

Sooo good to see you Carol! Your work is exemplary and I love to listen to you share your thoughts. Snooty Parrots is lovely. I have it kitted with sooo many others. Made a list for Nashville and that will give me plenty and I too must curb my enthusiasm and frame as. I go. I do get such pleasure at just reading my graphs. Life is busy and I getting better at juggling my life and my stitching!

Anxious for your quilting videos Carol, I am sure I will enjoy equally as much. I don't want a ton of duplicates either. I don't kit ahead nearly as much for that reason, so not as yummy to look ahead as your projects. Stay warm.

I had to laugh when you were talking about Floridians being bundled up during your cold snap. We visited Walt Disney World back in a February in the late 90s, and it was in the 80s when we arrived but soon turned colder. It was in the 60s during the day (like a fall day for us). All of the natives were dressed in heavy coats, hats, and mittens. We were comfortable in long sleeve sweaters, hoodies and sweatshirts, but the people from Minnesota and Wisconsin were in shorts and tees! I guess it is what you are used to temperature-wise.

    Hi Carol
Love Everything that you showed. I cannot stitch anything higher than 28.
I have been to Jacksonville FL 3 different times due to my brothers being stationed there when they was in the Navy.
My area - Northern Indiana - is getting a real bad Snowstorm on Wednesday and Thursday.
Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🪡🧵
