What I have learned as a 70 year old woman is that the one and only thing that will provide you the ability to loose weight and not be hungry all the time is PROTEIN. Until you incorporate that as a daily part of your diet it is very hard to loose weight. My son got married a year ago I was 113 lb and today I am 127lb. I watch what i eat but I slowed down on the protein. I go to the health club every day and spend 45 min at each class. Pilates 2 days per week strength training the other 5. I am committed to exercise. in the wedding pictures I noted my posture was poor. The pilates is helping.

Words cannot describe my admiration and gratitude for all your incredible contributions to our community!!!! Your honesty and wisdom always gives me a boost to be a better to myself! It’s so easy for me to make sacrifices for others, but difficult for me to make my own needs a priority. I’m going to watch this video weekly, as a reminder to take care of myself and my health! Thank you for being such an incredible inspiration!!!🙏🏻

Tammy, everything you say in this video is so accurate! I'm 54 and have been postmenopausal x5 years, and my lifestyle nearly matches yours. Thank you for sharing this information. Anyone can achieve these results, and yes, dedication is the key to long-term success! I love you so much! ❤

When I was ca 3 stone overweight & trying many diets with no permanent success someone said I should stop dieting and change my eating habits. She said the usual: eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a Queen and evening meal (no later than 6pm) like a pauper, all healthy foods that I enjoy AND TO THINK THIN.
So I bought a dress I liked in the size I wanted to be and tried it on once a week, gradually I was able to pull it up past my knees, then my hips and so on until I could eventually wear it!! To maintain this weight I continue eating this way and think thin, I find that makes a HUGE difference.
Forgot to say that I was eating more food, especially protein YET was losing weight and inches, wonderful!!

As someone who is very disciplined and has always taken my health seriously, it’s hard for me to understand those who don’t have that discipline. But certainly everyone does not. I try to tell others who ask how I am so focused, “why would I not want to look and feel my best?” We are all worth it!!

I can only echo what's been said over and over in the comments. You are such an INSPIRATION! I'm so grateful you take the time to share your journey and your experience which as not only been motivating, but saves me a lot of pain and disappointment. So thank you! Your "What I eat..." videos are most helpful to me, as you give me ideas I would not have thought of and since I'm new to this, it really helps me build "menu options". I'm sure they're probably not your most watched, but I do appreciate when you include them here and there! Merry Thanksgiving to You, Loudle, and the Doodles!❤

Thank you so much, Tammy, for this video! You have been my biggest inspiration to get back to consistently working out with weights and to figuring out and tracking my macros! I'm 61 and the weight just was being SO stubborn! Despite carnivore or keto, I saw you were having success doing what you're doing so I thought, if she can do it being postmenopausal then so can I! And I've lost 3 pound since starting seriously. Thats such a big deal, because I thought nothing would ever work! So I get what you're saying, seeing the results is what will keep us disciplined. Thank God for you, Tammy, and thank you SO MUCH for sharing everything with us! ❤️❤️😘😘

Tammy, I can’t thank you enough for doing this video. This is what an influencer can do to help other women. I’ve finally understood what your talking about, I think (lol), it’s protein and calories AND lifting heavy. I’m on board to be at my best by this time next year when I turn 66. Please, keep on doing this type of content (although I love all your beauty content) about food, weightlifting, becoming and staying strong.

We have the same schedule- my hubby is a Dr too, we wake up at 5:30 every day and I make him a smoothie to take to work and lunch! Most of the other wives think I am nuts to wake up with him and make him lunch!!!!! Some of the surgeons never eat lunch - very little time to grab food in a Dr.s lounge!!!! Once again, you look absolutely fabulous, 2024 is my year!!!! and my lucky number!!!!! "24"!!! Im ready!

    You inspired me! Thank you
I sat for weeks thinking I have to lose these 30 pounds, wondering how this macro thing worked. Had my physical in May was up 32 pounds, went home downloaded MyFitnessPal app for free. Played with all the settings, it calculated my calories, I only use the food diary to track my food, for free. I don’t exercise, really didn’t expect much to happen. I was shocked, lost 34 pounds, it just takes time ladies, don’t give up. It does work!

Oh, my gosh! Excellent video. I really like when you go into this depth in detail!!!We need to be hit over the head numerous times!!! and hear this video. I know you get tired of making them and repeating yourself but I think that’s what it’s going to take. For me I’m intimidated by the macro calculations.😮I think I even heard yousay yes, it is difficult at the beginning …But I hope to conquer! lm getting ready to leave for Thailand on Saturday and I’m going to enjoy myself while on vacation and maybe start in January I think. I think the holidays are not a good time to start. I also do hot yoga for 75 minutes very difficult routines and I walk 3 miles on the days I don’t do yoga. And I don’t beat myself up either. I do have osteopenia. I’m 62 years old. And I’ve had a hip replacement, and I have left knee issues. If I could only lose 39 pounds like you did. Wow! I’m so impressed with you my dear Tammy. I am so impressed!! Love & Happy Thanksgiving to u & Lou & the girls!!& your family.

Great video Tammy. I don’t count macros, but I’m 71, last year I lost 25 lbs by doing intermittent fasting and eating in moderation. Im 5’7” 135 now and never felt better. I also walk almost every day and do weights 3 times a week. I used to eat so much bread. Now I only eat bread once in a while. I try not to eat sugar, but I will have that piece of cake if I’m at a party. I feel great and will continue this to maintain.

So much good advice! I am down over 50 lbs (three years work) in my late 60’s following this exact same plan…PROTEIN is the key to satiety which curbs the cravings! When my arthritic knees allow me, I walk and do strength training and my favorite new ‘sport’ is boxing…great cardio! TY for this video! (I’d love to know how you get that much protein each day)

Hello again Ms Tammy, you are truly an inspiration to me. I am 56 and have also been diagnosed with hip osteopenia 😞 like you, my mum suffered and ended up in a wheelchair after multiple fractures, she lost her mobility. I am determined for that not to happen to me too. The gym I visited do not seem to be fully aware of the fragility and modifications needed when one has osteopenia. I do not know where to begin! To top things up I live in a country that I'm not too fluent in their language, so that does not help matters either. An exercise video from you would be a AMAZING! Please do make one 🙏

One of the best ways to start is by tracking normal eating (for a day or even a week). Once you see how much you're eating (it's quite a surprise!), then cut out 200 calories and do that for a month. See where you're at and if you're not at your goal, cut out 300 cal. and add easy exercise (walking etc). I think most people want the quick fix, but it's a long haul to change your eating habits.
Love seeing the puppy to wants pets and attention ;-)

Hi Tammy…would you mind sharing what your average monthly weight loss was until you reached your goal. I’m a few years older and plan to follow a similar approach to get to my goal…I was just curious what your average weekly/monthly loss was during this time. I know that patience is key and persistence is even more important. Thanks for sharing…it is so helpful.

Thank you, just to note , a pound of fat and a pound of muscle still weigh the same -a pound, however the fat isn't doing anything beneficial really , BUT the muscle is !!! thanks for the inspiration , you look amazing !!!
