It still has good moments, but it isn’t as good as part 1’s most of the time and it doesn’t come anywhere close to the level or early Part 2 which was more comparable to something like Goodbye, Eri’s art. I still love the story and characters and Fujimoto is cooking even more recently but the art just isn’t up to the levels it used to be. If the art being a bit messy doesn’t bother you, I definitely suggest catching up cuz a lot of shit has gone down.
I just watched it in the cinemas with my sister. We were the only two there. We laughed out loud and cried, it was such a magical experience. The film is shorter compared to full length animated movies but its filled with the most spectacular animation with its sketchy lines and heartfelt motions. I'll never forget it.

Exactly. He takes the time and care to write women just as good as men. Often in Shonen and some other genres, the women are written rather carelessly.

It’s so atmospheric and bittersweet with the way it slowly becomes distorted. The vibe of that song specifically really makes me think of Look Back- I even remember listening to it while I read the manga! That’s why I was so happy to see he is working on the music, it’s like it’s meant to be :)
Could AI make something in this artstyle? Absolutely. Could it have Fujimoto’s incredible knack for paneling/shot composition and his deeply emotional, realistic human characters? Absolutely not. AI could replicate the look but not the soul.

Now this is what i call a perfect anime adaptation. Most anime has background still. This really had the background movement. Even so called best animated series kids say demon slayer or jjk couldnt do this.
Also this is how I am expecting WIT STUDIO to do with one piece remake. One piece would be beautiful with this kinda animation. After all one piece is an adventure story. Without the bg movement and visuals it would be just a story of rubber boy. We want the adventure and it's beauty.

I screamed when i saw this. Look back is my favorite one shot of all time and my second favorite story made by Tatsuki Fujimoto. As an aspiring mangaka myself who has the same struggles i relate deeply to this one shot and I've been praying for someone to make look back animated and now my wish came true. I'm so happy.

Fujimoto has got to be the biggest rags to riches story we've seen in a fucking while in the manga world. It took Eiichiro Oda 20 years to have his old one-shots be given the same level of love and respect Fujimoto's have received. Here's to Goodbye Eri and so much more in film or anime form. And here's to me going fucking ballistic over the Chainsaw Man movie and this.

I just finished Goodbye, Eri and haven’t read Lookback yet and I have no idea what they are saying in this trailer, but the great thing about Fujimoto works is you don’t really even need to know what’s being said to have it illicit emotions.
