“Masterpiece”, my thoughts exactly when I heard this song. Sonically, lyrically, vocally, it’s the full monty. Harkens back to their Shogun days. “In the Court of the Dragon “ is going to be fantastic if the first three songs are indicators. Trivium has only gotten better as time goes by. My most anticipated album this year 🔥. Can’t wait for you to react to the whole album. Great reaction to an epic song🔥❤️🔥
Trivium is a Latin word that means where three roads meet. In regards to them, it is the way that they described their stuff, the intersection between metalcore, melodic death metal and thrash metal. Down below I see the comment that Trivium doesn't make bad music and I struggle with that sentiment. I know I have been a fan since '05. Seen them 18 times in concert but had a three year hiatus where I went on strike because I was not a fan of the direction after Silence in the Snow. I thought it was decent music in comparison to the rest of the industry, but I have some high standards for trivium. The operatics and inflection in Matt's voice just got annoying to me. Maybe I haven't given Silence in the Snow it's fair shake, but you could feel it coming with each CD after Shogun. Each release got progressively worse. Each CD had some good tracks but wasn't like Ascendancy or Shogun where almost every track was special. UNTIL THEY GOT ALEX BENT IN THE BAND! I really believe that guy saved them and once I heard one song with him on the kit I said... Okay, I get it now. I understand why the other 45 drummers had to go. But they are on the opposite path as compared to post Shogun. Every release is just getting better and better. I am glad the youtube overlords are finally allowing some reactions to this song. Great reaction as per usual and are you going to do a complete album reaction on Friday or Saturday??
Honestly mate, now that we are almost 3 records past Silence in the snow, I'd say give it another chance, now that there isn't this sort of doomsday feeling of "oh god is this what Trivium are now?" doing that honestly gave me an appreciation for the album and helped me to listen and hear it for what it is, not what it isn't
I was a fan of theirs since Asendency. Then the Crusade happened and I was on the fence. Heard Kirisute Gomen from Shogun and have been hooked ever since. Even went back and The Crusade wasnt as bad as I though. Alex added so much more to their last two albums.

Well it was pulled off the unreleased material from Shogun, so that makes sense. Yeah, its freaking awesome.
The entire album keeps that same energy. It's damn near flawless.

If you really like this song, I highly recommending their song Shogun. That is what I would call a Masterpiece of theirs.
