    This is such a cool video, thank you!! Can you walk around in VR while traveling in these apps?

    • @DuncanHustle
      @DuncanHustle  2 роки тому +3

      In the Wander app you can point and click to a direction you want to move toward and most of the time you will be able to advance in that direction. You can not physically walk around in the Wander App. In other VR games such as boxing or zombies you can walk around in your play area (the set boundaries within your physical space) and it will translate to moving in the game. To get a good feel of how Wander App works, go to Google Street View on your smart phone and move around the locations. It's very similar to that. 💪

    Thanks for the video mate. This is what VR is for and not just gaming. Just to confirm, are images stereoscopic 3D or flat 2D. Is there a depth sense? Also, how is the image quality? Thanks.

    • @DuncanHustle
      @DuncanHustle  3 роки тому +3

      Hey Riken, I was already thinking after I posted this video... That might be a question people are wondering. I should have clarified. They are stereoscopic 3D, like real life. Not 2D. Real life 3D. Feels like you are there. 95% of images are high quality, real looking and not pixelated.

      All the real photos/video in VR apps are only 360 degree images - the same as what you'd see on Facebook - they are NOT 3D - you cannot move freely through these images. The great advantage of using Oculus or any VR headset is that you can look around in any direction and feel like you are standing right there!

      You can go anywhere in the Wander app for Oculus. Type in the Natural Wonder you would like to visit and the Wander app will take you there.

      Video 360 had been around for a while - there are tons on UA-cam. You can look in any direction while watching the video. Please understand - this is NOT 3D - you are not free to choose your location, but you can look in any direction at any time during the video which is amazing in and of itself. Many bands have produced 360 videos, and there are also many short animations and movie behind-the-scenes short films. A few VR series have also been made, but generally the clarity is not very good. I've watched much of this content using Google Cardboard or PSVR, so I'm sure Oculus has a ton of it to view - hopefull the Quest 2 allows you to log into UA-cam.

    Sadly images from Street view aren't taken in 3D right? (Gives you real depth because it was taken from two different angles), I mean there's a lot of content in 3D it's not the only option

    • @DuncanHustle
      @DuncanHustle  2 роки тому

      Hey Fernando! The Google street view images are 360 spherical images. Being there in person is the best thing but this is the next best thing. Like you said, 3d is gaining in content. I’m pumped to see all the new 3d products emerging. Wander app is my fav way to easily explore the world in 3d. Have a great day and thanks for the comment!

    • @richarnold5323

      Fernando is right - all the real photos/video in VR apps are only 360 degree images - they are NOT 3D - you cannot move freely through these images. However you can move to another image that may be only a few feet away - so if there's something you want a better look at, it may be possible.
      In constrast, the CGI game imagery is totally 3D and you can go anywhere that isn't restricted by the game mechanics.
