Smart idea didnt know you could push break down and stop it from turning as much but I pulled out the radiator and fans and moved the condenser so I can use a impact wrench
Thanks for this video. Very cool that you didn't need a crank pulley puller to get it off. I'm going to replace the one on my '06 G35 coupe when I do a radiator replacement and idler pulley delete next year.
Hey pal, yeah it came to me alot easier than I had expected. It was a job I had been putting off for years lol I've heard the auto's can be a pain to lock the engine steady enough to loosen the crank pulley bolt.
Nice bro , would you recommend this mod for the G37s coupe. I was thinking about buying the stillen light weight pulley. Are light weight pulley safe .
Hey pal sorry to hear that. In gear and have someone inside hard in the brake pedal. If doing it on the ground that should hold the engine steady, on a ramp no chance. Tensioners might need soaking in penetrating fluid overnight
Hey there.. just came across your video and I just did installed a lightweight crank pulley myself on my G35.. how is it holding after a while ??? thanks in advance
Hey pal, absolutely fine!!! No worries or concerns at all. Check every now and again as you do, for any issues any leaks, belts fraying - nothing. All gains 💪
@@daveyofyeshua hey thanks for reply... I was concerned for a second there because I had a guy on FB saying he is against lightweight crank pulleys because it can lead to increased wear bearing.. thanks again
Best you pal, yeah I think actually closer to 3yrs now since being fitted. No issues at all, been bang on. Absolutely perfect. Cheers for the kind comment 🙌
@@daveyofyeshua yeh I see why you did this as the 60 degree technique is a little odd, I don't see my bolt moving any further epsecially another 60 degrees! What torque setting did you go to?

Yeah I saw it on another YT vid. 4th gear, handbrake and foot brake on which holds it steady enough

Nice one pal, you'll be chuffed with the upgrade 👌
looking forward to getting it knocked out @@daveyofyeshua
I did this based on Daveys review. It worked quite well. Used a 2 foot breaker bar with the handle from my floor jack......@@synaptik111
You made it look so easy , I’ve got an automatic g35 that I want do this to as well. I’m in no rush though I hear the automatics can be a real pain

I agree man, I’m doing my vq35 de rn, new sprockets, cams, and performance timing chain, it’s not bad, also helps when you have the homie 🙏
I've got a squeaky belt when it's cold out so my belts need doing, so might as well get one of these whilst the belts are off 😉 it'll be rude not to
Mate the difference is well worth it!!! So you'll be doing maintenance and mods 😎
Good video David, just bought a set from Tarmac Sportz, hope all’s well.
Nice one pal, how did you get on?
Surprised you haven’t done the pulley delete on the front of the engine
@@howardrathbone2120 It there still because I'm unsure of the delete benefits

Having a nightmare with mine atm, both tensioners won't un-tension the belt and I can't get the crank to stop spinning ieven though it's in gear

Nice vid!! What would you say is the size of the largest idle pulley at the top?
Hi RR, thanks for the comment. No idea pal sadly, info should be available online
If they’re mad they retain stock size

Quick question as I have the same lightweight pulley, did you perform the 60 degree tightening technique or just torqued the bolt.
Hi, torqued up and went a bit extra ✅

What Air Intake are you running? You don’t mind giving me a mod list on your engine? It looks very clean 🧼
Cheers fella, it's a JPerformance hardpipe intake with Ramair cone filter. Wasso plenum spacer, hdev earthing kit, Direnza catch can. Orange dress up kit. Motordyne ART pipes with XYZ, Thorney Motorsport Exhaust.

9:40 when you start you car you can hear like a crunchy sound. My car does the exact same thing and i've always wondered what that was, any ideas?
Hi, I only heard this once and never again - not sure what it was I'm afraid.
Did you have to replace crank pulley seal?
No fella, bone dry thankfully
ive tried the same method but the crank pulley still spins need HELP!
This is the only driveway method I know, may need to take it to a garage
Bc it's cap, the breaks have absolutely nothing to do with the crank🤷
Any update now as to durability and quality??
Hi fella, cheers for the msg - absolutely no issues. Quality is bang on, bounced of the limiter both on road and on the dyno - no concerns
