Infinite Being Is Everyone’s Most Intimate Experience

  • What does Rupert mean when he refers to infinite being or infinite awareness? And how does that relate to the finite self?
Rupert says: ‘When I speak about infinite being, I’m not talking about some abstract, metaphysical or philosophical idea. I’m just talking about the simple, ordinary, intimate being that each of us essentially is, which is well within everybody’s experience. That infinite being never really becomes finite. It just seems to become finite when it clothes itself in human experience and gets mixed up with thoughts and feelings.
‘What we do here has nothing to do with transforming the finite being or self that we seem to be into the infinite self or being that we might become. It’s just a matter of recognising the infinite being that we eternally are.’

Beautiful.... I would add that, for me, the awareness of the infinite being is a sense of instantaneous knowledge of everything, and at the same time, an opposite kind of quality of profound peacefulness, an unmoving nothingness with no need for anything more, so everything and nothing at the same instant; a Ying & Yang of sorts creating a sense of wholeness and contentment (if that makes any sense!)

I think that inbetween yang and yin, there is a centre in which the energy of oneness flows while feeling it.
Senses are a part of sensations by yang and yin.
Feeling of feelings are experienced by the singular soul, which is NOT a sense organ.

    Namaste,
It seems so simple but in reality it's not. The lady might have said thank you and grasped something intellectually, but really the mind must become absolutely quiet for a much longer time in order for the Self to be realized. That is samadhi. Now if that samadhi is held without the mind sprouting up again, the nirvikalpa state will be revealed. This is where sages like Ramakrishna Paramahamsa say that one becomes mute and he explains it beautifully in the story of the salt doll "A salt doll wanted to measure the ocean’s depth. It wanted to be the first to tell how deep it was. But the moment it got into the water, it melted.
Man in Samadhi, knowing (becoming) Brahman/Self
goes beyond reason and is mute. No longer has he the power to describe the nature of Brahman/Self"

And can samadhi be achieved without meditation?

      @@BlondeManNoName
According to the yogis, if you can maintain an unbroken attention on let's say a mantra like "OM" for 12 seconds, that's concentration. If you can maintain that concentration for 144 seconds (12x12), that's meditation. Again if maintained for 12x12x12 (28 minutes 48 seconds) that's samadhi. Even samadhi has levels to it but ultimately when that blankness/void is experienced, one has to finally enquire into the Self, who is experiencing this blankness? Eventually the mind will vanish into the Self, like the single drop merging with the ocean. Rupert says that this isn't something extraordinary but it's beyond anything our minds can conceive. So to answer your question: yes meditation is necessary but so is a guru and to serve, love, give, purify, meditate and realise like the great master Sri Swami Sivananda used to say. To directly jump on self-enquiry without purification of the mind is really a waste of time. Yoga is methodical and one should follow the steps under a master. When enough discernment and dispassion has arose in man, the guru will appear. God bless

@@quake3quake3 You state: "To directly jump on self-enquiry without purification of the mind is really a waste of time."
My Question: When the whole point of this exercise, is to cognize that which is "prior" to mind, why do we need to waste our time in "purifying the mind"? Furthermore, if "purifying of mind" is needed, who is the one who "purifies the mind" and what "instrument" does one use to "purify the mind"?

This Sri Swami Krishananda, a great disciple of Sri Swami Sivananda, explains: "I did 18 years of severe penance to realise that I was always that and no penance was needed! But still those 18 years were needed in order for me to realize that I did not need them!"
So there seems to be a paradox in.his statement, but in reality there is not. It's like saying I was for many nights scared of the snake on the road but after a while through applying knowledge, reasoning and enquiry into the snake, Realized it was only a rope with the help of my flashlight of knowledge. This ignorance is rooted so deeply that a methodical practice is absolutely required under a competent guru. God bless

The humane being is a moment in time, where time is horizontal.
Inside this being, I know there is a here/now, as a centre of this being, where this centre is the smallest centre present.
Inside this centre is flowing a vertikal singular flow of energy by the sound of silence, of infiniteness.
When discovered, this flows infinite, even when the brain/mind is speaking over it.

Awareness doesn't go anywhere. It eternally is present. When you fall asleep awareness is no longer aware of objects but awareness is still there.
For example do you say I don't exist when I fall asleep? You are still aware but no longer any mind there so no objects. When you wake up awareness is the same now it's aware of objects.
When someone asks you in the morning how you slept, you reply "I slept well I had a good sleep". So there in your answer you were aware during sleep.

What! talk about reverse psychology. The lady asked a question and the teacher reversed her question for the lady to answer her own question. Why, because that gives the teacher more time to come up with something to fit. This is slide of the hand teaching.
Looks like no one in the class has a clue what the Being is nor how it derived. The Lady didn't find anything because she doesn't know what object she is supposed to be experiencing because the teacher also doest have a clue what that object is within all humans to be experienced.
Quote; " objective"= not dependent on the mind for existence, existence= fact and fact = a thing and thing is an object. Equally, experience = observation of facts and fact = a thing and a thing is an object.
So what is the BEING object within the lady that she is supposed to be Experiencing.
A Being that exists in a physical Form that derived at its' inception at an epoch at the beginning of your lineage. That means you/one was initially FORMED not BORN. So how did your BEING become infinite, no good just saying it. Explain it.
Your Being is finite within you due to being an object but infinite due to its imprinted knowledge due to its deriving from the elements of/in the Universe. Evolve thee.

@@qigonglove1240 We can never be too careful, when it comes to understanding Existence as It is in Itself.
Rupert's religious ideology model has many flaws just as all religious ideologies do.
Rupert defining Existence as a consciousness with only the good and wishful qualities comes from the old religious ideology and belief for a deity that is usually preconceived as only having the good and the desirable qualities.
In religion, the deity is always assumed as being All good and all loving, while the devil is showered with all the bad and undesirable qualities to be blamed and held accountable. This is really a belief in duality.
The only thing that changes in Rupert's religious ideology is naming.
Under, Rupert's religious ideology, the all good and all loving deity becomes an all peace and all happiness consciousness and the devil becomes mind and finite mind
Religions have insisted that their deity is never responsible for any suffering. And, have always conveniently blamed the devil as the cause and the reason for the sufferings.
Rupert has claimed from day one that consciouness is never responsible for any suffering. All blames were conveniently placed on mind and finite mind.
Same doctrine, Same belief, only different labels. It's a belief in duality, packaged, marketed and sold as a nondual teaching. It's a form of self deception as what religious ideologies have always been.
A deception rooted in self ignorance and self dishonesty. Which are two main forms of self deception.
This is how religious ideologies have successfully managed to get the majority of humanity to believe and accept their claims about Existence.
Self deception always wins by betting on the ignorance of many, as it has always done throughout history. So it continues.
One can never be too careful, or be contemplative enough, when it comes to understanding the nature of Existence as Is in Itself.
You take good care of yourself!
