I love cotto's style. Ive been immitating it a bit(it only requires minor modification to defend against kicks, I do Muay thai) and gotten success. That persistent high guard, man. it really stops alotta guys from even trying, and when they do, their punches bounce off your guard or get stopped or deflected without harm done. Can be lowered to defend vs body shots, and of course leg raises for kicks to the legs and body, guard for high kicks and punches(and footwork, and counter attacks). I particularly like making them go into a high guard too, that way I can land my left(or right) hook to their head, and bodies.
beautiful performance. i remember he was suppose to fight chop chop corley this night. i heard he had got a 6th round tko and i was happy(this card was ppv and i didnt order it). then i heard it was against randall one punch ko bailey and i was really happy. i would of been nervous for miguel had i known chop chop was no longer the opponent but a powerful bailey. cotto did he thing though.
Interesting, I missed that stat. Well, according to Miguel, Bailey was the hardest puncher he faced. If you haven't seen Cotto's recent interview with Chris Byrd, you should check it out. That's why I came here to re-watch this fight. I was actually expecting more from Bailey, because of what Cotto said. Instead, I was more impressed with Cotto.
ok I will check it out. and im just saying he made Randall bailey look like a amateur and that is when bailey was a feared 1 punch KO ARTIST THATS AMAZING TO SEE COTTO BE SO EFFECTIVE IS ALL IM SAYING. ORGULLO BORIUCA!
Cotto waited so many times in the ropes for Bailey to open up, but he was afraid to do so because he was going to get counterpunched, also at the end Bailey quit. No mas
Bailey came out in first round like he was gonna knock out cotton with one right hand? And then he got clocked and didn't throw any punches after that! He thought ko with them toothpick arms? Lol
undefeated Cotto 6rd TKO'ed Bailey, undefeated Mike Jones couldnt beat 37 yr old Bailey and got KO'ed. Records dont speak like they used to , too many padded records
Bailey wasn't a true top fighter, but he's one of my favorite fighters.
cotto should train to be like this again i love his style
I love cotto

cotto fighting great opposition on his way up. makings of a legend
Just proves how good Cotto really is, the man defeated some really really good fighters
Cotto was a bad ass
I think I remember reading somewhere Cotto said Randall Bailey hit him so hard he thought Bailey had punched out his teeth in the mouthpiece.
Cotto recently said that this guy has been the hardest hit by a right hook
Thanks for posting!

Thats not Cottos father thats his uncle!

Torres, Judah, Malignaggi, Mosley all became champs after they fought Cotto, I guess you can add Randall Bailey to the list.
hehe like it would just be that simple, the reason why he didnt open up was because cotto made him gun shy, and cotto was just to damm skilled
Bailey couldn't handle Cotto's smart pressure.
THAT COTTO WOULD HAVE MURDERED PACQUIAO, WITH NO WEIGHT STIPULATIONS OF COURSE
josue baez
Don’t think so
Cotto was a great fuckin fighter!!!
I know that after Bailey got knocked out he looked like he wanted the doctor to stop the fight
If I'm at a fight and a guy is whistling for rounds at a time in my ear, there's going to be 2 fights going on at the same time.
Best body puncher since joe Frazier
very true
Judah and Mosley were Champions before they fought Miguel Cotto.
In ound 4 Cotto managed to land at least 12 punches while Bailey did not throw any
One more fight!!
I thought you Implied it, My Mistake.
Jim Lampley @ 2:13 looooooooooool
Never said they weren't.
Carlos Quintana as well!
true
What? Judah, Mosley, and Bailey were champs long before they fought Cotto. Where are you getting your information from?
randall fought a stupid fight but he was facing a bull that night anyways
bailey, mosley, judah were champs before cotto
what hapenned to bailey hapenned to cotto when he fought pacquiao
22th fight lol u mean 22nd
undefeated Cotto 6rd TKO'ed Bailey, undefeated Mike Jones couldnt beat 37 yr old Bailey and got KO'ed. Records dont speak like they used to , too many padded records
never said they weren't..
Body shot to a hard puncher..
yeah he knocked jones out lol and now he will fight alexander
also Quintana! beat williams !
Miguel Cotto is a Bromancer! joke hahaha
cotto was just as good as mayweather bailey only landed 7% thats horrible
If Randal Bailey opened up more and just let those hands go, he could have easily beaten Cotto. If only Bailey had Pacquiao's courage.
No, i guess you didn't. Margarito, Pacquiao, and Mayweather all became champs after they fought Cotto as well.
