Margarito's chin was outrageous. Any other welterweight would have been out of there in 3-4 rounds taking those shots. Mosley couldnt miss the guy.

Antonio was not such a destroyer without the plaster. Good on Shane's trainer for exposing Margarito. People die in this game. Plaster is absolutely unforgivable as is tampering with glove padding. Unforgivable in boxing.

Never been a big fan of Mosley's style, One of the most flawless performances ever. Stood in the middle of the ring, outboxed , out brawled and simply bullied the bully. Incredible performance he looked 21 years old.

Crazy how Moseley is from Pomona, which is about a 40 minute straight shot east of staple center; but they’re booing him and cheering for the other guy, who’s from a whole other country lol.
The commentary on this was hilarious. The hardest part of a fight for an older fighter is the first 4 or 5 rounds, after that most can go all night. When Mosley came out so well in the first two rounds i remember thinking it was going to be a very hard night for Margacheato.

Bernard's trainer enhanced Shane's left hook, for awhile his father wasn't his trainer. He wasn't as dependent on his right. Most of his victories when he came back to 147, came from the left hook.
Shane was great fast hands and power. Im still shocked when he lost to Vernon Forrest.

Whose brilliant idea was to put margarito against this beast! Sugar is just too fast and strong! When I saw this mismatch I knew it was going to be a living nightmare for margarito. His fake smiles and laughter quickly and abruptly vanished!
This made me a Shane Mosley fan, my uncle and I stayed up late and ordered this ppv that night. I felt like Shane was fighting beyound all means. He earned a fan for life, not because we share the same name but it gave me a sense of pride to know this man gave it his all as well as Margarito. It was one of those fights that you look on with great memeory. My uncle was going for AM this whole fight and once the 5th round started he suddenly changed his tune. For once in my life I felt like I was fighting as much as Shane was.
Now that's entertainment!
Fun fact. Mosley said he wasn't fighting with anger due to Antonio's illegal hand wraps being caught before the fight. Him and his wife were getting a divorce and she was telling him, you're gonna lose to Antonio, this is your last paycheck as you're pushing 38 so he can keep the $2 million he made on this fight. This made him furious. Turns out his ex wife was an a-hole. I also believe she tried to get possession of his belts in court.
This is one of my all time favorite fights to watch and when Moseley knocked out Mayorga also

Not only that, he hired his own medical team and injected an illegal amount of vitamins in his arm and that’s been a tactic back in the day to cover steroids.
