as someone who lost their airline job, I agree that more money should've been directed to small businesses
Sorry to hear that and I agree, and the airlines that got bailed out should've put more restrictions on what they can do with the money. We are all just pawns and that sucks.
AGREED! no bail outs to airlines!
@@causeoflava An airline is also just a ticket desk. They often dont own the airplanes and such because those are set out into another company and in turn the airline "rent" the planes from that company. The point of it is that if they go broke they just lose the "desk" and not the planes. Which is 99% of the value in the company. So bailing them out often means that they pay themselves because they owe "rent" to the other company they also own and was setup to serve their airline...

How the Government is destroying the restaurant industry. Fixed your headline for you.
I like that "Major Major" definition of how things are ending up these days, more power to everyone of us in the industry.
What I always wonder is if a given restaurant sounded the alarm bells and said their restaurant is at risk of shutting down would people come out (order in) to save it. It happened to a restaurant where I live and it hit the news. Although a little different a customer went in, found out they were closing, and reached out on social media. The restaurant stayed open and had lines up for 2 weeks after the message went out. Other places just seem to be closed the next day.
10 years from now when our kids watch this they will be confused on why they are wearing mask
who tf wants to dine out now :(
Me, because guess what? I'm human and I'm a social creature. We need in-person interactions. We need to go places. We can't just stay in the same place all the time even if it's our home. Traveling is good for the soul and that includes going inside a restaurant to dine.
Exactly

Idk Sir/Ma'am
I'd rather not get infected with Covid again, it wasn't good for my soul and my body, I was deathly afraid I'd infect my poor grandma.
Even after covid.most of these places use their bare hands treating food💀
Fucking tear jerker. My wife and I moved from the city in 2017, and all of our best memories revolve around food. I know that when we make it back to NYC we won't recognize it 💔
It's literally destroying EVERYTHING, not just restaurant industries.
I'm a restaurant owner. I feel like restaurants are a core part of the culture of the world. Frankly, I blame Trump for his "F" grade in leadership. Sorry to be political but it's really personal. My wife and I had $200k+ in savings and now we have $300, not kidding.
Hang in there, Matt.
Yet you are against someone who wanted to keep small businesses open or at least allow them to make the decision and then probably voted in Biden with his dark winter and wanting more full on shutdowns nationwide😂

Don't mind these people. Focus on what you can control. You'll get through this.

We had a business that included food, closed it in early February, and put everything in storage. Took no government money. Looking at 2022 to reopen. Eating out of the old pantry until then. Sad for everyone who can’t sit it out.
Seemed like a really neat place with a hard working staff that believed in it. Real shame.
Here in the Netherlands. It's almost impossible to keep distance in the large supermarkets. But the restaurants who did everything to stay within the covid requirements had to shut down while they were responsible for 0.1% of all cases.
I work in a commercial kitchen, and at least 4 food trucks have closed FOR GOOD since March. At this rate, I'm expecting more to follow suite
Heartbreaking to see someone’s blood, sweat, and tears be left to dust all because our leaders couldn’t get their act together to simply do their job as public servants to the American people. So many dreams now turned to nightmares, and bills unpaid, and hearts and communities shattered and forever changed. We should be so much better than this
