Dementieva had by far worst serve of ‘my’ era - to the present. the First serve would sometimes fall into the service box in the **60s mph. For a while, Dementieva’s serve really perplexed players like Lindsay Davenport and Jennifer Capriati, who were used to working with /against pace. i remember Dementieva saying, with humour, that many players couldn’t handle her incredibly slow serve, with its slice. By the 2006, however, many players adapted and began crunching the ball past her - so much so that even Dementieva could not defend the returns. Quite incredibly, Dementieva improved her serve greatly from 2007 - onward, under the guidance of a retired Australian professional (- i cant remember the name, sorry) and the occasional help of retired players like Richard Krajicek. This led to deep runs in Slams in both 2008 and 2009 (semi final at the Australian Open, 2009; semi final at Wimbledon 2008 and 2009. Her serve even became a weapon, winning ‘free’ points through placement, depth and enormously improved speed. i have never seen a player improve such a terrible stroke, so late in their career.
I can’t pinpoint which tournament, but there’s an Anna Kournikova video where she loses a huuuuge advantage (and almost the match) due to horrendous serves 😂
No one is spared here. Anyone who’s played tennis knows the serve is a series of precise movements and, well…sometimes other things happen. Especially when you’re trying to hit a kick serve. You have to impart topspin on the ball by essentially brushing over it with the strings as it’s dropping toward your head. When it works, it’s great! 😂
Can you do another version of this Starting from the Same concept but with different outcomes I mean like ostapenko at Wimbledon doubles when she served straight at cornet and ended up winning the point although she was serving on the wrong side. Something happens coincidentally or unintentionally but leads to unpredictable results.
Well, I played USTA tennis for 30 years and have to admit my serve was definitely the thing that kept me from higher levels, ...that said, don't think I every served as badly as most of these. Course, they probably serve a lot more balls than I did, and under a lot more pressure, lol
Whoever played tennis knows it can happen sometimes. Serving is a complex movement, concentration needs to be near flawless, wind and sun can mess it up too. A consistently bad serve is funny though.
"I want to have good communication with the fans" is a CLASSIC
(not Errani)
proceeds to feature errani multiple times 😍
They probably meant to say "not only Errani" 🤣
This is me on a good serving day
Omg so trueee
Same
Worst serve video is Sabalenkas all match against Peterson
she had sore shoulder

she was my fav player of that epoche
Agree!
Yeah, she really put the work in.
We’ve all hit serves like this. Nice to see the pros aren’t immune to a clunker every now and then.
Dementieva is the OG queen of messy serves. 😅
she was crowned as DF queen of that epoche
It's always super funny to see people serve into the centre of the f*cing sun.
Ostapenko did a similar serve against Boulter in Eastbourne this year. Just as bad!
This is why they choose to return first.
The only time I remember seeing Serena serve like this was that infamous WImbledon doubles match...
(not errani) is the most brutal flame I've ever seen in tennis XD

For the most part these are great champions - Stosur, Li, Dementieva, Sharapova. It just shows that spin serves are difficult.
04:15 schmiedlova bageling osaka must be the most humiliating set for a world number 1 at the 1st round of a major tournament
But the fact that she managed to turn things around and won it at the end makes it more insane
Dont forget the GOAT Serena when she had a strange day at 2014 wimbledon doubles match 😅😂, all jokes aside i love her!
🍷 😂 ❤
I think as a woman she had that... you know, red flag day.
It sure makes me feel better about my own mediocre serve when I see the pros stuffing up.
Penko's serve is so infectious that her double partner Kichenok started to serve like her
a penko fan btw 😂😂
probably the softest most unorthodox serve came in the early days. One Francoise Durr of France. Her backhand was just plain bizarre.
This is what happens if you give too much spin to the ball. Stefan Edberg, a great kick-server, hit such a serve in Wimbledon final, too.
I see a lot of these are sun in your eyes + kickserve related. Very relatable
None of these girls can hit an actual kick serve like a man
This compilation makes me not feel so bad about missing serves myself. Although I don't think I've hit any as bad as some of these... LOL
Why did you guys remove the video Maria Sakkari is talking about?
3:39- that serve by ostapenko almost win her team a point. Just missed the opponent player by an inch 😂😂😂....is it a way to win a point😅

What happened to the main channel?
it got copystriked :/

how errani was still winning with this serve?
doping
she even was #5
Is there an ATP version???
Serve Errani so funny 😂
Iconic👍❤️
omg to see Jelena Jankovic 💗
But that Sabalenka? Somehow I didn't associate....
She genuinely seemed distraught but then the umpire also asked her to try seriously 😭😭
It happens to the (literal) best of us.
Its nice to know that I can serve as well as as these players 😊
I give this video like and hope you will run ads to promote your nice channel
Wait a minute!!!!
Am I wrong, or are most of these on the second serve?
How on earth will someone mess up second serves so badly? 😂
errani worst server ever
And jet she managed to reach number 5 in singles ranking and to win all Slams in double.
nothing i've never done many times.
So... how is Sabine Lisicki doing these days?
1:25 WHOaa …
Sabalenka was injured don't count
Lisicki has the worst serve...
Wow Aryna!
Not Errani. But Errani. The real WOAT is Sabalenka then..
Filmed by potato
Eranni still the worst.
thoes are like my serves!
😍Errani😍
Not Errani 😅
Dementieva
Why aren't we allowed. To watch. Oh don't tell me The poxy French. ...yeah. .Well done to Russian players. 10 -7. CLOSE MATCH.
However, the legendary Emma Raducanu has claimed women's tennis players are 'technically better' than men.
Good job putting Serena with the title Worst.
