  • Hello everyone!
This week's post is a free home exercise program for improving your voice with Parkinson's. This disease can lead to a quiet and scratchy voice that often has others asking you to repeat yourself. Simple, daily vocal exercises can help this and make you more intelligible, keeping you in the conversation! Eugene Speech-Language Therapy helps you to understand your voice and communication needs, getting you out there again, participating in life.
Here is the list of expressive words and phrases talked about in exercise 5-
    1. Thank you!
    2. I'm sorry.
    3. Why is that?
    4. I don't think so.
    5. I need help!
    6. See you soon!
    7. Really?
    8. I can't believe it!
    9. It's been too long.
    10. Have a good day!

I was struggling with my vioce and I often practice hours even after ending zoom classes on vioce training and I am better but when I started practicing I wanted to be so good that I practiced alot, I was straining my voice and most often the next day is either no one can hear when I speak because my voice becomes so low, I became frustrated and never thought I could continue practicing to be better. My mom introduced me to this voice highlighting tea that's very helpful and I started using it, I didn't experience voice breaking or any of such no more. My dad had a stroke 1+ month ago and hes in a nursing home + Rehab center. Shortly after he arrived the speech therapist quit and my dad hasn't been getting any type of speech therapy like I thought he was gonna get when I put him there. Luckily his rehab for learning to walk again is coming along. He's able to stand up and get himself into a wheelchair and role himself around now but his speech has been delayed. So I just found these videos and I've been working with him on relearning how to talk. You don't realize how much your tongue and mouth does to pronounce even the simplest word until you try and teach someone how to do use them to make sounds. I hope I can get him back to talking and walking again so he can come home.

Hi Andy, thanks for the message. People with Parkinson's disease can have higher rates of acid reflux. I wonder if that is affecting you? A visit to your primary care doctor might be a good idea to look into that, they might refer you to an ENT or GI doctor if you haven't already been to one. I'm sorry to hear about your hoarse voice. Have you tried speech therapy? The earlier you start to learn good techniques the better.
      Thanks again

Have you heard people talk about - Piyaliyah Prominent Prepotence - (just google it ) ? It is a smashing one of a kind guide for discovering how to reverse Parkinsons disease minus the normal expense. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my neighbour got excellent success with it.
