I follow a few people who make beautiful and skillful things, some more amazing than others, but nothing seems to compare to your stuff. I still think you're an alien.
Such a beautiful piece of art. soul satisfying to look at. the efforts that you have taken to convert a junk piece of pipe to the beautiful Rose is awesome and so worth it... just loved to watch it
Wow really nice. I did a similar project with brass and silver alternating petals between the layers. I gotta say a rolling mill really helps on cutting down hammer time. I might advise an use of a punch to make the central pin to spread. It offers a more concentrated force and makes it hard to accidentally hit the leaves in case of a slip. If you manage to make a inverted ball shape on the tip \^/ like this , it will behave as a beading tool for stone setting. It will mushroom the material fast and if brought to a good finish it will make it even shiny. :)

Absolutely love this! I've done wire bending art for years but this is totally inspiring. Looks like I'm going to have to grab the spare copper pipe in the house 😏
Is there any metal nicer than copper to work with? It certainly is my favourite by some margin. The feel of it and the way it works shows in the end result. I never miss the opportunity to pick up any bits that are going spare every chance I get. I think of my box of spare copper bits as beauty in waiting!. I have made some kinetic sculptures that weather and age beautifully, the colours are gorgeous.
dang. that came out nice. I've been making things like this for girls I like for a long time. and apparently I've been waaaaaayyyyyyy over complicating it. I might give this technique a try next time.
Absolutely gorgeous build. I'd like to ask, why do you quench the copper afterwards? Is it to make it more pliable? I'm more of an amateur builder, but I love understanding the reasonings and explanations behind techniques. Also, the hotdog bit was great!! Definately makes me want to subscribe!
That's right. Copper work hardens, so as you pound or bend it, it gets harder and eventually brittle. It anneals(softens) if you heat it. The quench isn't necessary but some (including myself) think it softens a bit more with a quench. You might enjoy the voiceover version which has explanations for the build. ua-cam.com/video/S7zDCY94IDw/v-deo.html
Beautiful work done indeed, well done. Being a total dunce, why the heating and quenching?… does this help to stop the copper splitting while being worked??
I could be wrong, but I think one of the properties of copper is that it 'work hardens'. As you hammer and bend it it gets harder and more brittle. Doing a cycle of heating and cooling can anneal the metal and restore its flexibility, at least until you work it further :)
great vid! Diresta should be proud that his work helped inspire you. Isn't there a solution you can lay copper in to make it turn green? I'm sure there is, just can't recall it and too lazy to google. Just thinking if I get a chance to do this I might turn the stem and pointy leaves under the petals and leaf green this way. all the same your version is great! cool use of old pipe. make on!
william bresinski Natural cooling hardens it more. It's almost pure the only thing making it malleable without breaking is defects in the crystalline structure that you can push around. If it cools slowly these defects heal out while the atoms are still wiggly but not hurriying around like when it is red glowing and it gets pretty hard...
Beautiful copper rose !! A man of many talents.
A Rose by any other name would smell as sweet. Great video thumbs up. Nice work on the macerated digit.
nothing beats the original sounds of tools. none of that music background crap. thanks for the vid and that's a beautiful rose
Thanks!+ماهر و حكيم - maher & hakim
I honestly enjoyed watching this video. And it's very clearly step-by-step shown how it's done. You didn't even have to say a single word!
+Matěj Smetka Glad you liked it!
Brilliant. No Annoying Music. Just the Sound of a Craftsman working on Metal. Greetings from Ireland
A true craftsman! People like you are fewer and farther between these days. Thanks for the video!
Fascinating to see the metal move under the hammer blows in the sped-up portions.
Beautiful!!
Thank you Jimmy! That means a lot coming from you!
Sweet rose! Jimmy is one helluva inspiration

Really fantastic work! It looks so organic! I've seen this technique before, but this is the prettiest I've seen so far.
the hands of a "metal" worker. slathered in slag and still puts duct tape on his pliers. beautiful rendition. appreciate much 👍👍

Seriously, that was amazing.I had no idea it could be done in nine minutes and forty three seconds! Seriously - absolutely gorgeous.
FarmCraft 101 * Before you shaped the peddles for the rose it looked like a Poppy. Thanks for sharing, you do beautiful work.😇🌷
Beautiful.........nothing less than beautiful........good on you, mate
Use the ball of the hammer when riveting. Gives you better control and less risk of making sharp dents in the plate around it.
Stunning end result, just stunning 👊👊👊
You should have annealed the pipe after cutting - makes it much easier to open up and flatten. Really nice work!
wow, that's great craftsmanship. you've also made me a fan. now I want to make one too.
That is AWESOME! Now I know what to do with all those WW2 .50 cal. Shells I find here in the Woods! Thanks!
One of the most amazing projects I've ever seen on UA-cam 😍

Best one so far. Great works
Nice video.
Learnt how to make a copper rose.
Also that you can make money shipping anvils across the Atlantic 🤷
Really nice, great job!

Totally agree. Awesome stuff to work with.
It is beautiful, great job
Best part of the video was the sped up bits where the metal writhed and undulated. Thank you.
Really nice job , just need to do another 11 in time for valentine's day.
Fantastic work my friend
that's beautiful work
It's gorgeous thank you for sharing ❤❤
Beautiful rendering
Thanks!
VERY DRAMATIC. but might i suggest from video shooting perspective,. if you want a better slow mo capture with a 60 fps. beautiful .
You should start with copper flashing. It would make things a lot faster unless you just love pounding on copper.
That's awesome dude thanks for sharing 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
+Diesineveryfilm Customs Thanks!
dang. that came out nice.
I've been making things like this for girls I like for a long time. and apparently I've been waaaaaayyyyyyy over complicating it. I might give this technique a try next time.

Gorgeous!
Beautiful work done indeed, well done.

***** Thank you Maximum Taco. he does mention this in the narrated version (which I only found out about after watching this one!) LOL
Nice work and cool video edit
now that's how one makes a great video! thanks.

+mattdotgreenlake Thanks for the kind words and yes on the green. Awesome idea!
that came out awesome.
+Ramon Ocasio Thanks!
what is the purpose of the heat and quench before hammering? Looks Great Wish I had seen this long before valentimes day though ...
+Steve Haines softens the copper. Watch the voiceover version!
Beautiful work
Thanks for watching.
Wow what a great video

They used to call him Leonardo Da Vinci, now it's FarmCraft101.
that's pretty damn cool! Beautiful!
Well done! Thanks for the very informative video :)
awesome you're very talented
Nice job. Thanks.
you shouldn't quench the copper when you're anealing it ,that hardens it back up just let it cool off Natural. it will work much easier

Glad im not the only one with a bin of scrap copper pipe
Me too. Can't bring myself to scrap it.
yes sir. if you can think of it in your head you can put it out in some form of copper.
Looks great!
Thanks for watching!
That's just plain awesome
Best part of the video was the hotdog, It made me jump a little bit when i saw it and i went like ''OOOHHH SHIT. THAT'S NOT GOOD''

Jeez, good job. You've definitely inspired me to make something, probably a bunch of flops, but still!
I didn't like that "funny" finger thing, but you did a beautiful job. So thumbs up!
fantastic. ..... Good job
In actual time, how long did it take to make the copper rose? 🤔 Excellent video👍, and I did subscribe to your channel!❤
Thanks. I don't remember how long it took. Maybe 4 hours?
