I got one of these and planted it in May. The figs are as sweet as honey! The best I have ever had. Pruned it and have several cuttings in the rooting bin. The figs were a little late and I got them up to the second frost, and wound up losing about 20. I hope it was because I planted it so late in the Spring time.
Awesome tree! What zone are you in? The main crop fig is tough to get ripened in the fall. It all depends on sunlight especially in the fall months sept/oct. once the tree matures it will adapt but pending on your zone, you may want to push for the breba crop.
Thanks for this video. I wasn't able to find very many on the white marseilles. I have a mislabeled fig that I was trying to determine if it is this or lattarula. They appear to be so close it's hard to tell the difference and I know some believe it to be the same. I posted a video of mine this week if you want to check it out and give your guess on what it is.
I saw the video. You definitely have a white Marseille. I have a Instagram account under the same name that will show better detail of the two figs both white Marseille breba and main crop. And the lattarula
I let my white Marseille sit longer to get the black spots and shriveled on the breba for the best quality. And main crop is more soft and skin peeling when rippen
Whats your soil like? Do you test it. Ive picked up a couple trees, cant seem to get away from the rust spotting on the leaves, havent seen any fruit yet, stil in pots but going in the sand ( North florida ) this weekend along with 2 turkey and a celeste. I hope to have healthy trees. My soil is shiz sand, I amend it before putting anything in the ground but that only lasts so long. Thanks
No I don’t test. Usually I pick the sunniest spot. Then worry about soil after. These trees are resilient they prefer well drained soil. If you are lacking fruit production you need to give some nutrition. They like. Phosphorus and potash.with minimal nitrogen.
I believe that some trees in the same variety could either be a mega producer or lackluster. If it’s not productive by year 2/3. It’s out the door. You did the right thing! But I’d try again, you might get a producer.
@@forbiddenfruit.garden4672 I totally agree . I bought 3 eatable grapes potted plants at Lowes j chose the one with the longest vines one was twice the length on the 2 others same variety. The twice as long one grew. Like 12 feet in one season whereas the 2 other struggled to achieve 4 or 5 feet. All 3 the same variety ( red seedless from the same nursery in pots I'm suspecting that the Black Madeira KK was ! Cutting selected by Mr K. K. e just lucked on to a vigorous proportion of a limb . In other words Black Madeira k k colones generations after KK's initial sample are probably no more vigorous than Black Madeira non K k . Like how California grower "Harvey " refuses to lable his Black Madeira cutting as KK.
this tree is about 13 years old. I had it in a 20 gallon pot for 6 years before I put it in ground because of living situation. This tree is a vigorous grower
@@forbiddenfruit.garden4672 what planting zone are you in?! I just bought a white Marseilles clipping a few months ago and she’s growing really well! I’m just scared that my zone will be too cold for it to survive next winter (I will plant it outside this coming spring). I’m right on the line of zone 6a and 6b
@@pspaghetti6916 I’m in 6b zone. The white Marseille likes the cooler weather. It would be perfect for your zone. You would need to do something for winter protection. You could wrap it or uproot and bury the tree. Pending on your sunlight in the summer and fall, you may want to push for the breba crop for larger production and ripening. Good luck with your figs.
I have tasted these and there are no sweet at all. Maybe a little little bit but not like you’re saying. My mom has one and I have tasted several of them and actually made a jam out of them.
Maybe it’s not a true white Marseilles.? Maybe it wasn’t picked properly? So many factors. Many people do not know how to pick a ripe fig. That takes experience

I had one of those. I threw it away . It grew unbelievable slow . Had it for two seasons . Threw it away 2 . Years ago . Wish I hadn't thrown it away

these fig do not have open eyes. they also do not split in rain
Is it possible to get a few cuttings or a sucker?
I live in New York queens.
Contact me on my Instagram under same name.
I found 4 users with that name. Which one is you, or which 1 is your active account?
Where did you get yours from?
My white Marseille came from France. My grandma was gifted a WM bonsai from my aunt.
