How about the incredible cost of everything going up? Remember when Wendy's had the 4 for $4? Now it's the "Biggie Bag" for $5. Remember when you could eat McDonalds for under $8 for a meal? Yeah. Now it's well over $10 for the same. I'm not sure about you, but a 25%+ BASE increase in costs of necessities (food, utilities, etc.) is NOT desirable, NOT something to boast about.
Let's not talk about the "pandemic response" that Democrats keep discrediting Trump for. He could've ruled with a commanding iron fist, and shut out international travel for a time (like Canada, many European countries, etc.) but the left screamed at him and called him racist for doing so. He left it up to the states instead and still recommended CDC guidelines were followed. The hardest hit states economically, by infections and deaths were largely blue states. Surprise? I don't think so.
What about Biden claiming credit for jobs RETURNING to the economy after these lockdowns and business shutdowns when it was destined to happen when the vaccine rolled out (that was prepared under Trump's administration, and Biden loves to take credit for...)?

If Donald Trump can stay on the rails, he'll always dominate Joe Biden on a debate stage. Biden was over-prepared tonight, which hurt him and made him fumble up what seemed like obviously scripted and rehearsed answers. What is Maddow’s argument here? Bush lost the debate but won presidential so Biden will also?
Her point, if you somehow missed it, was that first debates are a disaster for the person holding office, and they seem to have to end-game effect on the election. People treating this like "Biden's done because he had a bad showing" are ignoring the fact the first debate has negligible effects for November.
If doing bad means you lose reelection, Bush would have lost, and Obama would have lost. People are treating this debate like it's doomsday between a pathological liar (Trump) and a dude who needed a Dayquil (Biden). Literally twenty minutes or so after the debate he sounded normal; you were not allowed to bring any external items with you on the stage, not even your own water.
I think people have the optics of "Trump is a fascist running for office" and panic any time he's given a megaphone so the stakes around what he does is elevated.

He just returned from a fast paced multi stop overseas diplomatic trip, a 20 year old would have seemed a little out of it, imagine how exhausted an 80 year old would be. I am very sad because I just saw my hero and this presidency looks like it is killing him. Can you blame him? Unfortunately, many who watched tonight do not know politics and how evil Trump is. Denial doesn’t help the situation. Can Biden actually recover from this? The point that stood out for me the most was the statement about Biden being 86 at the end of the next term. Taking that into consideration in conjunction with his performance at the Presidential debate, really puts things into stark relief. I respect Biden for who he is and what he has done for our country, but most people experience significant decline both physically and cognitively in their 80s. They are not up to running a country.
Americans have been clamoring for different choices for this election from the beginning. I think it is worth the risk to choose another Democratic candidate-even at this late stage in the game. In the end, the election is dualistic in nature: Between Republicans and Democrats; Fascism and Democracy. Hand the baton onto a younger and stronger person that can bring the Democrats to a win. We who are part of the grass roots fight can help bring that to fruition.
