This is why I supported Kamala Harris for President. She’s smart, articulate, and tough. She’s a former prosecutor, and knows how to take on crooks. That’s why she was perfect to face down Trump, who is nothing but a crook. But she has three strikes against her, in the current state of American politics and culture: 1) She’s a woman; 2) She’s Black; and 3) She’s Asian (Indian, specifically).

As is often the case, the important word that is missing (the “elision”) in Jefferson’s grand declaration is the most important word. If you insert the word “white” into the words “all men are created equal”, then it makes sense. Jefferson knew his audience. He knew that they were as racist as he was, and when he wrote those words they would assume the word “white” was in there, because otherwise it didn’t make sense.

If Harris is not playing a prominent visible role in the first two years, it is assumed there is some impure motive for it that some people need to be fired at for. Obviously they go too far in the other direction by cutting Trump far far too much slack when they should’ve parted ways with him long ago. Their being blindly loyal to him is directly harmful to the country.
