DFM, holy crap. They literally went toe to toe with the WORLD CHAMPIONS! Are you kidding me?? DFM deserves a standing ovation. I have nothing but respect.
I really felt the pain of DFM when they knew they overextended on the last fight when they didn’t need to be there. Late game nerves are tough against world champs 😂

Same fight was going to happen over Elder and likely Canyon would not miss the smite and they'd have control over the pit with cannon barage and victor lasers. DW realistically was not in trouble outside of that fight for the last tower earlier. DFM played well though but as ridiculous as it sounds DW basically planned this outcome. They picked all late champs and they came online directly at elder where the game would be decided brute force.
I know it's also a flaw and I'm in no way excusing it but khan drafted really disrespectfully, why pick GP blind when sion was not only better for the composition but a way safer choice?
Especially Steal, he kinda trolled with that flash at the end. They didn't really know how their comp can win a fight and their gold wasn't that far up against a hard scaling comp.
They didn't go toe to toe. They managed a 5k gold lead, camped one member, didn't put anyone else far enough behind, and their draft ultimately sucked. They only had two decent champions to play (Trist and Rell) versus DK's 3 OP champions (GP, Morg, and Viktor). DK played the game quite well to allow GP to catch up and help carry. DK still wins this game 9 out of 10 games.
If they slowed it down and took the inhib after forcing Ghost back to fountain, I think they'd win 100%. But I understand they took that fight because opponent's adc was out. It's unfortunate :(
@@shin481 Also they got a bit too excited I think. I mean it is not every day you get such a lead on the world champion. I mean it was extremely close and DFM had what it took to win, but you can't give damwon any openings like that. They are the world champion for a reason.

If a single black shield to stop highly predictable follow-up to long range cc hitting is all it takes to save the game.. Then it probably wasn't that lost to begin with.
Wow, I almost believed in the power of Anime plot armor. DFM lost, but still amazing game by them, the fact that they were able to put up a serious fight than many of the LCK teams is just surprising
i mean that game was pretty close, most of DWG's games were stomps in the LCK. blaber misstepping and fudge getting caught twice ended what was a pretty close game by DWG standards. This one though was def a different type of close XD
@@danielzhu9442 That game was never close though. DW had all their towers still and at no point did they ever really feel behind. They were lower in kills but higher in every other category. Macro play choked out C9 to where they didn't even realize the game was over despite Blaber vs Canyon.
Its not about kills in game. Its about lane control and objectives and DK had everything despite C9 getting kills doesn't mean they were any close to winning. C9 every lane was losing and don't worry about the commentators they too stupid understand but be biased because probably most of them are C9 fans so they going to make them selves feel better saying these type of things.
Huge props for the LJL team coming this close to allmost winning the game ... Actually insane to think that if they won their 1st game vs INF they would be 2-1 in the group after the 1st round robin

shen can jungle in s 10 the buff was 100% to 150% to monster but in s10 carry gj work butter then so no one play her now with all the nurf to carry gj she can see some play is not just the buff is just rito want more people know she can gj that is why she got buff
@@shin481 Canyon is quite literally the best player in the world so that helps a lot. You don't get free games as Morg, her Q is a make or break ability. That being said I've never carried harder than with that champion though. You can see Canyon though just steadily farming, gaining advantages and making sure the black shield is used perfectly. That's not something someone like Blaber could do for example.

@@simplyagamer17 they weathered soul, 3 barons and out micro'd and macro'd DFM in the later stages. Most teams wouldve lost that game and most top laners who start 1/6 wouldnt end 5/6 with a 600g bounty and hugely up in cs to their counterpart at the end of the game.
DamWon's decisions to give up objectives are definitely the right call. Teamfighting without vision with Zoe on the enemy team is almost impossible to win. Meanwhile, even if the other team got baron and cloud soul, they can still win a teamfight if they are in their base with better vision. Big props to DFM, but you gotta be impressed with DK's confidence that they can win a final teamfight with their skills and scaling comp.
What are you talking about? These two are clearly the 2 top teams their group. C9 and Infinity Esports challengers who try "bring it to these top teams".
This Team DFM got me because through them I saw the true spirit of “show your sword”, and the way that they face the boss without giving up and trying their best keeps reminding me the LPL teams before the first S series trophy. Even though facing the former world champion and probably the best team in the world, but still never give up and try their best to push forward. Kick NA out and Rise the LJL!
No more underestimating this region i guess. Mad respect to DFM from korea, and thanks to DK for standing their ground and eventually winning the game. One thing is for sure, Beryl is an absolute beast.

idk man looks to me like they just underestimated their opponents this time sure morgana got buffed recently but if it was a match they'd prioritize and didn't expect to actually fight this much for they wouldn't have let canyon pick morgana jungle i mean hecarim and udyr was open even if DK did first pick morgana thye could've let morgana be played by showmaker and canyone could've picked hecarim if they really wanted honestly they're probably testing the waters plus they chose a smart move trying to shutdown canyon and khan early on i doubt canyon would play morgana jungle for the rest of MSI

tbh as a japanese DK was so strong... Didn't do well in draft but they took miss from DFM and Canyon was incredible and insane. I hope DFM will get stronger from this match what they experienced.

it's so hearbreaking to see DFM losing this one. for a second i really believed in the underdog hype train until Udyr flashed into 5 enemies with half hp for a stun. i hope they can readjust their mental and get out of their group.
A lot of people might think DWG was behind all game but their comp actually puts almost no weight on Khan. They know that theyll win temfights even with the gold lead DFM has. As long as they pick fight on open areas DWG wil win. Which is destined to happen in front of the twin towers. Just by having this damage heavy comp, sacrificing Khan while feedin showmaker and ghost, they are almost unable to lose once the game goes over 30 min. Both teams knew this which is why DFM at the end was forced to be sucked into showmakers damage.
I think DFM got lucky this match especially since Khan blind picked Gang Plank and lost his flash early and just got bullied all game, if he played something like Sion I think Dam Won would've been fine.

Giving up the third baron was actually very strategic as Dk had a better chance to ace DFM was inside turrrets and they knew all they needed was one good team fight and boi they delivered.
they probably expected that they had the advantage cause they pretty muched poked DK enough i mean beryl was at 50% hp already but i guess they didn't expect showmaker's damage i mean udyr got popped the moment he rushed in and afterwards that rell just dove in under DK's tower seriously after udyr got popped and rell dived while urgot was inbetween their carries and DK it was a losing game if only tristana and zoe survived maybe they could've won
I got the chills when DFM got the 3rd baron but their composure began to fade DK man can play through pressure and stay composed truly a world champion..
truly world class if i'm gonna be honest the game changer of every clash in the late game was beryl his engage and headbutt picks were just too good if you noticed bery dives in and headbuts one of DFM and they'll pop that person instnatly and the fight is instantly 4v5 so beryl really saved the game here with his plays
at 3rd baron zoe failed 8 q and 3 e , last teamfight udyr wintraded followed by rell and urgot . They played a good early game but they are wildcards so they still lose
Dwg once said the most nerve wrecking team for them in group c is DFM because they have no data about them. so i already predict today game will be like this. Anyway #DKWIN

Keeping calm is their only merit in this win, these late game throws because of their decision making individually or as a team by less experienced teams happened a lot of times before, EVO Vs KZ at MSI 2018, for example, and in this MSI, it happened with PNG Vs MAD this same day. DFM just gave away this one, just see what every single one of them are doing in that last teamfight. I understand it was the nervousness, still sad it ended this way and they made those mistakes.
That game was so close, props to beryl for engaging good fights, and also showmaker for delivering ton of damage in the last teamfight. Also Canyon that black shield in last teamfight was able to save ghost and was able to bring him back in the game to eliminate the urgot rell and others.. I appreciate the whole team for helping Khan losing in early game and during late game he was able to get his items correctly with the help of his teamates. But yeah even world champion makes mistakes, there will always be room for improvement! But regardless of what happened i will still remain a fan! congrats for giving us a wonderful game!
Props do DFM for getting so close to beating DK. At some point i started hoping, but DK are the world champions for a reason. Despite all of this and the props everyone gives to DFM I want to look at how despite how behind DK were they still managed to win. This team is scary and unfortunately close doesn't win games. You can't give DK any openings like that, but I think the DFM players just got overexcited they were gonna beat DK and that cost them.
@@nahimmadomyownthing yeah Kazu kept on over and over again having to sac himself cause one of his teammates over stepped now it’s no knock on the teammates cause I doubt they have the same compilation in Japan. Where their over stays don’t get punished and thier allowed to do those kinds of plays. Hope they learn from it and place 2nd in their group.
No throws - they were 1 canyon morg W cooldown away from winning and fighting them without an adc is still a good choice. The outcome doesn’t determine whether it’s a throw or not. A real throw is c9 blabber on scuttle. No real purpose or advantage gained for a 50 game continues 50 you lose
Note that Khan had Evi all lane whenever Steele wasn't there, and he kept his cs number close to Evi's. Considering GP passive, he was even if not beating Evi in cs in lane. But that casters are talking about how you can't pick GP blind. Evi trolled his team by taking Urgot. Of course he needed his jungler to babysit him.
DFM might have lost, but they have shown the chink in DK's armour. This should motivate RNG and Mad Lions. Mentality is a very important thing. That being said, I really wanted DFM to win, but they choked at the very end.
They overestimate their damage or underestimate enemy damage as DK is late game comp while dfm is early game comp . But dfm had a very good macro play and khan just didn’t give a fuck to udyr. Also Morgana seems useless when your mid do not have push
That tunneling from Damwon was amazing. Damwon’s scaling champs have the upper hand with their aoe damaged. DFN had to walk through barrels, chaos storm and victors stun, Morgan’s ground aoe as well. Too much damage.
I dont get why people call DFM an underdog, these ppl literally scrim against LCK LPL teams on the regular at home, and can play on the Korean solo Q server.
THEY DIDNT HAVE TO FIGHT. japanese players are super intelligent, thus they have great macro and they even out macroed DWK. but they don't have the micro to win a teamfight. they are not all that coordinated. sad for jaapan rlly wanted them to win. still gave us quite a show
Or viktor and xayah will just roll over them in 5v5, dfm and dk knows it that's why they are ending it as soon as possible, unfortunately they messed up. Its still the best match this msi so far lol

Okay I've been a DK fan since they entered the lck in 2019 and I cheered them on in worlds. DK have lost games before but this is the first time I have ever seen them act afraid and without an answer. So much respect to DFM and I hope they can show us more of why they should replace NA as a major region.
I don't understand why they would push bot when top and mid inhibs were wide open. Seems like they got greedy for a fast win when they could have taken those two open inhibs and escorted double super minions with baron buff into the base for the easy win.
Remember the general anime plots systems are the protagonist losing on the start of series against his biggest rival then the character development will enter, they will face on finals and protagonist wins... I hate that I love both teams
Yeah as much as I like this idea and love anime DK will not be as sloppy in the second round robin. After experience and preparation koreans level up a lot.
@katoku sou not really. The rest of the team had a good pick except Kayn/khan what ever you call it he was the one who people thought was throwing and is true but if he got any other pick dfm would have a harder time.
DFM didn't get the top inhib with it got because it would feed minions to DK. This way the inhib is vulnerable and they know that top will be a source of pressure throughout the game now.
they have comms so you can't blame 1 person for the mistake they played as a twin they almost won as a team and they lost as a team you can't pin the game on 1 person especially in this types of tournaments

Really good game for DFM. Evi was a monster on Urgot and also Steal with an impressive performance on Udyr. But damn, that Rell just inted almost every single damn time. literally every single fight in this game was played EXTREMELY EXTREMELY poor by the Rell. If Rell plays 1 good fight, DFM win
they probably jumped the gun too soon cause even tho they were winning the consecutive fights they had were a losing battle the damage scaling that xayah, gp and viktor was showing was a big decision factor to why they probably decided to just try and end the game then and there
Dfm did really good killing them lane by lane but they should know that group fights are damwon’s advantage they went in a 5v5 which made it 1 by 1 dead but it doesn’t mean that they are weak in 1v1
The game was close but it still felt like it went exactly as DW planned it to go. They went a little too over confident on late game picks in draft and were exploited early game heavily but when it came down it as every knows these picks all come online and take over a game around 35-40 minutes. The reason DFM went for the bloodlust was because they knew they were out of time and they were essentially coin flipping the game. They lost the flip. The same fight that shut them down at DW base would have happened over Elder and the outcome would have likely been the same. DW was "in trouble" with that last tower but they were never really "behind their own plan" It's like picking Kassadin and getting a 40-50 minute game. You planned to be on the back foot to just rock back and obliterate the other team.

Khan isnt really a dropoff though. You watch him this season, DK didnt miss a beat. He alone bridged the massive draft gap against C9.

All he could do was clearing stacked waves before dying and had tp to return to the lane. On paper those dives were very good by DFM entire game long.
Simple GP wave clear is just better than Urgot's. And Khan haves Rav so it isn't hard to do that.

Udyr's flash in wasn't the biggest issue, but Urgot, Rell and Trys all stood inside Viktor's ult for like 4 sec trying to chase after.

Its a really common mistake DFM makes...getting too excited when winning and throwing
A lot of people might think DWG was behind all game but their comp actually puts almost no weight on Khan. They know that theyll win temfights even with the gold lead DFM has. As long as they pick fight on open areas DWG wil win. Which is destined to happen in front of the twin towers. Just by having this damage heavy comp, sacrificing Khan while feedin showmaker and ghost, they are almost unable to lose once the game goes over 30 min. Both teams knew this which is why DFM at the end was forced to be sucked into showmakers damage.

I think DFM got lucky this match especially since Khan blind picked Gang Plank and lost his flash early and just got bullied all game, if he played something like Sion I think Dam Won would've been fine.

Giving up the third baron was actually very strategic as Dk had a better chance to ace DFM was inside turrrets and they knew all they needed was one good team fight and boi they delivered.

truly world class if i'm gonna be honest the game changer of every clash in the late game was beryl his engage and headbutt picks were just too good if you noticed bery dives in and headbuts one of DFM and they'll pop that person instnatly and the fight is instantly 4v5 so beryl really saved the game here with his plays

Keeping calm is their only merit in this win, these late game throws because of their decision making individually or as a team by less experienced teams happened a lot of times before, EVO Vs KZ at MSI 2018, for example, and in this MSI, it happened with PNG Vs MAD this same day.
DFM just gave away this one, just see what every single one of them are doing in that last teamfight. I understand it was the nervousness, still sad it ended this way and they made those mistakes.

That game was so close, props to beryl for engaging good fights, and also showmaker for delivering ton of damage in the last teamfight. Also Canyon that black shield in last teamfight was able to save ghost and was able to bring him back in the game to eliminate the urgot rell and others.. I appreciate the whole team for helping Khan losing in early game and during late game he was able to get his items correctly with the help of his teamates. But yeah even world champion makes mistakes, there will always be room for improvement! But regardless of what happened i will still remain a fan! congrats for giving us a wonderful game!
Props do DFM for getting so close to beating DK. At some point i started hoping, but DK are the world champions for a reason. Despite all of this and the props everyone gives to DFM I want to look at how despite how behind DK were they still managed to win. This team is scary and unfortunately close doesn't win games. You can't give DK any openings like that, but I think the DFM players just got overexcited they were gonna beat DK and that cost them.
Extremely impressive, a wildcard region go toe to toe with the world champions is just insane.

Note that Khan had Evi all lane whenever Steele wasn't there, and he kept his cs number close to Evi's. Considering GP passive, he was even if not beating Evi in cs in lane. But that casters are talking about how you can't pick GP blind. Evi trolled his team by taking Urgot. Of course he needed his jungler to babysit him.
DFM might have lost, but they have shown the chink in DK's armour. This should motivate RNG and Mad Lions. Mentality is a very important thing. That being said, I really wanted DFM to win, but they choked at the very end.
I think dfm is kind of on that level where every player knows what to do. Kazu looks very sloppy but not as blabber and fudge.
They overestimate their damage or underestimate enemy damage as DK is late game comp while dfm is early game comp . But dfm had a very good macro play and khan just didn’t give a fuck to udyr. Also Morgana seems useless when your mid do not have push

That tunneling from Damwon was amazing. Damwon’s scaling champs have the upper hand with their aoe damaged. DFN had to walk through barrels, chaos storm and victors stun, Morgan’s ground aoe as well. Too much damage.

THEY DIDNT HAVE TO FIGHT. japanese players are super intelligent, thus they have great macro and they even out macroed DWK. but they don't have the micro to win a teamfight. they are not all that coordinated. sad for jaapan rlly wanted them to win. still gave us quite a show

Okay I've been a DK fan since they entered the lck in 2019 and I cheered them on in worlds. DK have lost games before but this is the first time I have ever seen them act afraid and without an answer. So much respect to DFM and I hope they can show us more of why they should replace NA as a major region.
I don't understand why they would push bot when top and mid inhibs were wide open. Seems like they got greedy for a fast win when they could have taken those two open inhibs and escorted double super minions with baron buff into the base for the easy win.

DFM didn't get the top inhib with it got because it would feed minions to DK. This way the inhib is vulnerable and they know that top will be a source of pressure throughout the game now.

Every time the casters call them "deadnation focus me" but there name is "detonation focus me" thats annoying
The game was close but it still felt like it went exactly as DW planned it to go. They went a little too over confident on late game picks in draft and were exploited early game heavily but when it came down it as every knows these picks all come online and take over a game around 35-40 minutes. The reason DFM went for the bloodlust was because they knew they were out of time and they were essentially coin flipping the game. They lost the flip.
The same fight that shut them down at DW base would have happened over Elder and the outcome would have likely been the same. DW was "in trouble" with that last tower but they were never really "behind their own plan"
It's like picking Kassadin and getting a 40-50 minute game. You planned to be on the back foot to just rock back and obliterate the other team.
