  • Opened on 2 May 2024, Tyrecycle's East Rockingham tyre recycling facility, 40km south of Perth is Australia's largest and most flexible recycling plant.
The official opening was attended by the Hon. Reece Whitby, Western Australia Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Action, and the Hon. Madeleine King, Federal Minister for Resources.
This innovative facility marks a significant advancement in waste tyre processing on a national scale.
The $15 million-dollar plant, partially funded through the jointly supported State and Federal Government’s Recycling Modernisation Fund (RMF), boasts a processing capacity of 42,000 tonnes of tyres annually.
It will also create 7,000 tonnes of crumbed rubber per year, which will be integral to the construction of roads across Western Australia.
