- A great track from one of Elton John's early albums, Madman Across The Water from 1971. Elton John had been touring America after his breakthrough in 1970 and they stayed at multiple hotels and holiday inns, and the song is about that.
The song have been played in concert on and off, most recently in 2015.

Jesus God, this this guy is terrific.
I'd never leave the house if I could play like that - great musicianship, thanks for posting
A 40 year fan, and this song just gets me in the feels everytime.. just pure Americana but America's adopted son
Fantastic job. It's nice to hear solo piano Elton covers that don't try to play the vocal melody in the right hand. Well done.
Absolutely fantastic, loved it, well done.
Really, really, really brilliant. Fantastic.
Love your passion for Eltons music. Your playing is on a very very high level.
Did you ever seen Sir Elton live in concert?
Greetings from Germany
Thank you very much! I've seen Elton live on many occasions. I was once onstage with him in fact!
@@LimeCovers How cool is that! Being on stage with Elton. How did you end up with EJ on stage?
@@dawidzapotoczny1920 It was during a concert in 2014 where he invited me and my friend onstage to have a picture. We were in the front row.
@@LimeCovers May I know what city it was in?

These are big songs. Wow just wow
I have searched for DECADES for a good karaoke track of this incredible song, but to no avail! If anyone on here knows of where one can be found online, would you please post the info on this link, and I will check it periodically for responses! Thank you
This guys a good as Elton
Absolutely wonderful! What are you using for the distinct Elton piano sound?
Thank you! I'm just using the settings on the keyboard the give the piano sound a more crispy sound.
That’s absolutely incredible! It sounds just like Eltons live piano!!!
Boston, at last, and the plane's touching down
Our hostess is handing the hot towels around
From a terminal gate to a black limousine
It's a ten minute ride to the Holiday inn
Boredom's a pastime that one soon acquired
Where you get to the stage where you're not even tired
Kicking your heels 'till the time comes around
To pick up your bags and head out of town
Slow down Joe, I'm rock and roll man
I've twiddled my thumbs in a dozen odd bands
And you ain't seen nothing 'till you've been
In a motel baby, like the Holiday inn
Oh, I don't even know if it's Cleveland or Maine
With the buildings as big and rooms just the same
And the TV don't work and the french fries are cold
And the room service closed about an hour ago.

I have always loved this track, and this version is absolutely outstanding ! I am 69 now and still play keyboards for enjoyment (I have performed on organ and guitars in amateur bands in the '60s and early '70's but my fingers are not up to complex guitar stuff these days). So I play keys and my 15 year old grandson is damn good on guitar. We both use the same DAW software to record and share projects so we could play together during lockdown (he blew me away with his solos from 'Comfortably Numb' !). I would love to learn this piece on the keyboard so we could play it together - is there a tutorial for it anywhere ?
