- If you want to help mod your local PIU machine’s dance pad but have a time constraint, or are just lazy like I am, this video is for you. This video is also good if you’re trying to learn more about the anatomy and inner workings of a pad, as I go into detail about sensitivity, panel height, and more.

I've modded many pads (DDR and PIU) and I don't recommended these bouncy paddings above L-brackets. I remove the stock foam, replaced it with hard rubber (1" w, 70mm L, 2mm thickness) attaching to L-bracket using double-sided tape. I also place another padding below sensor for increased sensitivity (hard rubber, 14mm w, 80mm L, 2mm thickness). And besides, hard rubbers are cheaper and better than gorilla tapes. The squishy feels remain intact because of the sensors raised by the 2nd bottom paddings.
You also forgot the washers (10mm outer diameter, 6mm inner diameter, 1mm thckness) to place inside the m6 screws. You need them so that you can close them tightly, otherwise you get grounded input unless if you don't close them tightly. Usually you insert 1 to 3 pieces per m6 screw depending on the height of the panels.

Oh sick, non-gameplay content, always cool to see!
My round1 will not let us touch the pads and they refuse to have their mechanics do the work. Looks like I gotta stomp super hard lol

So this mod maintains the squishy feel that stock pads normally have? I ask because some places I’ve been to that have modded pads have a real stiff feel to the panels.
Yes it does
Sadly, the board we have at our arcade has a few screws "un-un-screw-able"; tried to twist the screwdriver (size didn't matter), but since the drive of the screws are wider, "eaten-away", or practically non existent in the same way the not "damaged" ones are, no grip is made and the driver is just spinning. Don't know how to unscrew those screws, when they are supremely tightly screwed in and have such a drive problem...
@@almost_friday9745 Nope, but do kindly tell me what you suggest should that have been possible?
@@TussalDragon344 If I understand correctly, your screws are stripped? can't you melt solder onto the drive to make a new slot?

7 cm can't be the length of the L-bracket.
Tried to add you on discord but the name added in the description can’t be found
Maybe try this again?

I can also add you instead if it still doesn’t work
