Jonah Blacksmith was formed by brothers Simon and Thomas Alstrup. The band name is a tribute to their grandfather Johannes Smed. Jonah Blacksmith released their debut album "Northern Trail" in April 2015, securing a large number of supporters. Danish national radio P4 rotated songs like "I Am King", "Off The Track" and "Dandelion" and at DMA Folk 2015, the band was nominated in three categories. In 2017, the band's second album "Jonah Blacksmith" was released. Gaffa wrote "Candidate for this summer's strongest soundtrack". The album includes the two new P4 favorites "Once You Love" and "Daughter Of Jonah". In 2020 they followed up with the release of their critically acclaimed third album “Brothers”. After touring Denmark in 2021 the single “House On Fire” was released and Jonah Blacksmith got their first TOP 10 radio hit. In addition to Simon Alstrup (vocals, guitar) and Thomas Alstrup (bass and banjo), Jonah Blacksmith consists of Lasse Alstrup (keys, mandolin), Jon Bisgaard Kjeldsen (keys, banjo), Søren Poulsen (drums), Thor Kortegaard (drums) and Søren Bigum (guitar, pedal-steel)
