Love Architects. A lot of their fans were disappointed as their last two albums moved away from the sound they were best known for. Sound inevitably changed after the passing of Tom (founding guitarist / Dan's brother) and fans weren't receptive of it. Seeing Red's essentially a clap back at the fans criticism, mainly fans who took it to another level, sending death threats to them and their families, as well as the constant sentiment that the band "died with Tom".

The holy hell album is a masterpiece. Damnation / holy hell my favorites. The sound is different but not completely. New stuff have arena chorus ect. Early stuff don’t have as many cleans and more breakdowns

I am going to suggest Animals (the original and Abbey road version). Animals was my introduction to Architects almost 2 years ago. I had never heard of them, or of the metalcore genre. Sadly, the band caught a lot of shit from certain fans about the album this song was on (For Those That Wish To Exist), along with the next album (Classic Symptoms of A Broken Spirit), saying really horrible things to them on social media and at shows. I went back and listened to their older stuff and while it took some time for me to get acclimated to the screaming vocals, I now love their older stuff as much as the new, especially Broken Cross and Match Made in Heaven.
But instead of me naming another dozen songs, I would recommend listening to anything (or everything) on the following albums: Lost Forever // Lost Together, All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us, and Holy Hell. Many consider these to be S tier metalcore albums.
Also, a little bit of back story. Tom Searle, the lead guitarist and main song writer died of cancer and those 3 albums I mentioned kind of cover the journey he and the band went through, from his diagnosis (LF//LT), his thoughts on his mortality (AOGHAU), and the band's grief (including his identical twin brother Dan - the drummer) after Tom's death (HH). I hope you continue to explore them and yes, I recommend having the lyrics up as they are as important as the music...at least for me. Love you guys reactions, keep it up!

I only encountered Architects through this song
They were a band mentioned by people
    but were described as "problematic"
because of a shift in the sound over the last couple of albums.
I was pleased by their sound though was very conscious of the lyrics
sending a message to a minority of the fans who were making their lives hell.
I liked their sound and have explored their back catalogue quite a bit since then
An interesting song to look at is "Animals" as there is:
    an official video:
    ua-cam.com/video/jdWhJcrrjQs/v-deo.html
a version recorded with a full orchestra (live):
    ua-cam.com/video/OCJi5hVdiZU/v-deo.html
    and a live version too:
    ua-cam.com/video/qXbQsS9UABI/v-deo.html
The compare and contrast between all three or any two might be interesting.
    Enjoy.

I particularly love the version of Animals with the orchestra. What is more metal than those horns and a guy pounding an actual anvil.
