Same thing happened to me in gate 2020 and got the same level of rank . But I didn't attempted gate in 2021. But now I realised in 2022 I have to prepare and started my preparation in may along with job .
Ma'am iit kgp is conducting this year ,and they have maintained good standard in gate CSE history (2006,14)... Hope this year also they will do the same.it will be blessing for students who prepared very hard and understood the concept in depth 😀

hi anshuman.. thanks for your questions.. for an average student i believe 10 to 20 full length test would be enough to get you flavour of how actually those 3 hours are going to feel like.. of course more is always good... i would suggest to take full length test available from different coching institutes.. they also provide free mock test
I know arnab rbrs dbms is not enough for solving gate questions... Thats why i suggest solving pyqs.. go to gate overflow you'll find good solutions for every pyqs you get stuck on.. that's how i built my concepts..

I have not referred to any standard book..but if you want you can refer to hamacher... For coa solving pyqs were most helpful for me..it also helped me build my concepts
i did self study... but i had the access of video lecture of ravindra babu ravula..so its important to have good resources so that you dont miss out on anything.. if you want to prepare for gate i would suggest you to check out gate applied cse course... if you think it is costly you can share it with your friend..

I mean... If you think giving more time to these subject will decline your over all performance then leave them. Many students leave 1 or 2 subjects and do good if they are really good at other subjects
You can easily get the syllabus and all for GATE CS on google... If you want proper course you can check applied gate cs website... You can also watch some of their free content to begin with

See any course content i dont believe is enough atleast for rbr i can say.. because you will get the idea of how to solve different different type of qsns by solving as many pyqs as possible... So for getting enough theory knowledge so that you can understand any qsn and it's solutions rbrs videos are enough
Gate applied CSE is a great source for all PYQs and lecture video.. i have watched ravindra babu ravulas videos that was also good.. srikant sir from Gate applied cse is a great teacher.. you can watch their demo videos on youtube or on their website itself.. they have some free videos.. similar you can watch ravundra babu sirs video and see what suits you
What i believe is..10 to 20 full length tests are good ...but again more is always good...so manage your time so that you can do as many tests as possible 😁

Hello Mam, I wanted to ask how did you revise + practice problems in these last months. Like should I be revising the whole syllabus or practice a particular topic or focusing on a my weak areas? What was your strategy exactly ? How did you divided the time?
I knew which subjects i was not comfortable in. I used to revise them for a day and at the end of the day used to give test series... See as the number of revision increases you'll be able to revise in less time.. so initially it might take more than 1 day to revise any subject..
i mean that is not a requirement in 2 year mtech program.. there is a 3 year research program as well.. and they dont have a lot of coursework so yess its manageable
I used RBR lectures video.. other than that previous year qsns...test series from applied gate and zeal... I referred gate overflow whenever a doubt regarding any qsn..

For discrete maths, I have just solved PYQs and subject tests on test series... But i had also made the notes for it from lecture videos of rbrs..so i didn't need any book

But most of the toppers are from some coaching institute i wont deny that.. because coaching people know exactly what questions are important they know short tricks and all.. if you want recommendation i can give that..GATE applied CS has great content...many of my peers here in IISc did coaching from there

See this is very hard for me to tell you how much time exactly.. not because you are from mechanical background but because it totally depend on an individual capability.. try watching some basic tutorial videos to get comfortable with it..dont think that it would be difficult for you because you are from mechanical because many CSE students also start from scratch so its same for all

No..nothing like that..if you are taking admission in mtech course work... You'll get admission on gate score..followed by a coding round...
