The cost of LiFePO4 batteries has really dropped over time. Also account that a lead acid battery can only be drained to 50% before the battery dies. So that has to be accounted for. There were lots of 12.8V 100AH LiFePO4 batteries available on Black Friday sales.

True. Prices have come down dramatically since I built this in late 2022.

@@KS6DAY Also, the LIP04 batteries are a different chemistry than the Poly batteries you are using with your drones/model airplanes. They are much safer as to fire, especially with the built in protection of the BMS's. The biggest negative to the LIP04 batteries is that they cannot be charged below 32 degrees F. The other plus to the LIP04 batteries is a constant voltage output until the charge is used up. They allow you to use the full 100 amps vs. only about 50 amps for the deep cycle battery. Conventional deep cycle batteries voltage drops off as it is being discharged. This may or may not be a problem depending on the voltage requirements of the gear you are running. Over all, your battery choice will work well within it's limitations. A nice, simple piece of kit. Good info on the battery box also. Thanks Scott !
