Thanks for sharing! I love how busy your journal is and how you make it so colourful. Your videos are charming and entertaining. :-D *waves from England*
How can you say you're not an artist Ali? You're amazing and inspiring. I think of you and I think beautiful splashes of colour...and that makes me smile! xo
So thankful I came across this video this morning! I am a one-planner ring-bound kinda girl, but I've been struggling with using my planner for sermon & Bible study notes, prayer, etc (no problem with a section for ministry tasks/brainstorming). I think I really need to separate my "head book" from a "heart book". Will pray & think about what will work for me before the schedule gets crazy this fall! Love your personality and humor :). Your boys are beautiful. Blessings to you!
Lisa Beets Thank you so much for your comment!!! It has helped me SO MUCH separating the two. Definitely worth praying about it. :) I feel that it's that act of me just letting go of everything in my head so I can hear clearly what He is saying...I really enjoy both notebooks but having a notebook JUST for my spiritual walk has been the most fun! Prayin' that you will find what works for you too! Thanks again for watchin' and for you're love! xoxo
When I first heard you call your planner "Mr. Darcy" I was like...gah, I call mine Mr. Darcy, too! Just realizing it's like a style name for a specific Chic Sparrow TN. LOL.
Love love love your videos, Ali. I had narrow Chic Sparrow Lovie gifted to me recently just in July 2016. What love! So now a Buttered Rum Mr. Darcy Deluxe will arrive to me in 2 days here in August...... my first order with Chic Sparrow! I am over the moon! Annnddd .... I am keeping to one size only .... in narrow ... to easily switch stuff out and around. Thanks again. ~ Debi
+Tiffany C Oh Thank you!!!! I have had another person request a a tutorial on my eye makeup. I'm not sure if I have the right lighting or not, but I could try if you're interested. :)
I love your Lovie! My first traveler's notebook was a Chic Sparrow Black Beauty Creme Brulee and it's still my favorite. (and I got it last October! lol) Last month I decided to buy a BB Creme Brulee Deluxe and it was beautiful, but it just wasn't the same as my old one (I call her Mac). Love all your videos!
Shannon Bastian That's an awesome name for your TN! :) Awww... Ours are the same age. So precious. ;) Thanks so much for hangin' out with me and for your sharin' the love! xoxo
You are awesome and so inspiring hoping my journaling gets to look more like yours in the future. You have such an uplifting personality, love watching all your videos and actually inspired me to get my own "lovie" in a b6 Creme. Hope you don't mind I'm totally naming mine Mr.Lovie after yours ☺️
i love your "lovie"! i use distress stains in my midori too. you should get some gelatos. they're super fun to add color with or without water. i use a baby wipe to spread them around. i love your little peerless palette! i need to save up to get some of those. did you know they used them in the late 1800's to add color to b&w photos? so cool. btw, those colorful sticky labels you showed are from daiso japan. we have a ton of those stores here in california. you could seriously go broke shopping there. anyway, take care & God bless:)
foundandmade My neighbor has some Gelatos and I didn't 'get it.' Maybe I need to UA-cam them or something. ;) And yes, I did know that about Peerless! :) I thought about trying to color in some of my black and white photos, but I think I have the wrong kind of paper. Daiso Japan, you say? Hmmmm... ;)
Nicolette Nexxt Welcome, welcome!!! Come join my crazies! ;) Thanks so much for watching and your subscription! Excited to share this journey with you! xoxo
Hi Ali, firstly I would like to thank you so so very much for bringing such light and joy and spirit into this community! I've been using a Midori TN but mine can't even hold 3 notebooks properly, the one in the middle keeps popping out and it's driving me nuts. So I've decided I'll get a narrow CS as well. I just wonder what colour is your lovie? The dark chocolate on the website doesn't look so dark to me from the photos? I thought I'd best ask you. Thank you so much. Keep being you I love your personality! Bonkers... that's the word... and hey, best people are! Greeting from England
Hey there, Dani! Thank you so much for your kind words! I am so blessed by my viewers! :) I really think you will enjoy the Chic Sparrow. It's elegant and crafted so beautifully. I have a dark chocolate. I just ordered a dark chocolate for my Community Giveaway. You should check out my latest video because you could WIN one!!! Anyhoo, the leather will age and darken a little over time. Hope all that info helps and thank YOU for your love, support and for watching my videos!!! xoxo
Thank you Ali, for your reply! I've already seen your video. Is it an international giveaway? I'll totally join :) My friend Angie is participating too, I'm so excited! I own a Toffee mr Darcy personal and a pocket Buttered rum and I quite agree, the quality is second to none! Hey, can never have too many ChicSparrows :D Keep doing what you're doing cos you're doing it so well!
Hi Ali! Jumping a bit late on the midori wagon..! Anyhow I ve been watching your videos and love them especially your positive personality! May I ask where are these little tabs from? Thank U and keep the videos coming 😀
What do you use to print out your photos? I love how you add them to your journal. I'm terrible about "scrapbooking" but would love to add them to my journal.
Stephanie Childress Hey there! I JUST posted a video about this...like...20 ish minutes ago! :D It's a little long, but goes into ALL the details of how I print my photos! xoxo ua-cam.com/video/U9Y9e0pyWoM/v-deo.html
Ali, first off love your videos and you and all you stand for. I am a nrw subscriber and found you as I have discovered Chic Sparrow! I've watched this amazing video over and over and may keep missing this, but I can't find it, I know Lovie is a creme Brulet but what size? I love this one and it will be my first time ever ordering anything like this and I think your Lovie is the perfect size for me to use as my Prayer Journal. Thanks in advance for your reply. Blessings, Tiffany
Oh wow! Thank you so much for your kind words! Lovie is a narrow. ☺️ So excited for you to go on this new adventure! Please tag me on IG if you have an account, if you post a picture of your Lovie. ☺️
So I accidentally bought the distress PAINT and about crapped...but then I decided to try them and BOOM they still work. they are tad bit darker pigment because they are paint but I can still write over them! ;)
Loved your video. So is it an authentic tn? I'm all about "NO KNOCKOFFS." Sorry if it's that. I have a Hobonichi A6 and I have been trying to figure it out what I'm going to do and etc for 2016. You know how the end of the year flies by. So I was wondering do I go the "Cousin" route A5? Or stay with the A6? I really haven't been using it more than once a week or so. It's great for homily notes. (sermon in Protestant speech). I'm torn. I'll watch a few more videos. And I really enjoyed this one.
Judith Meyer Thank you so much!!! It is absolutely an authentic Chic Sparrow Traveler's Notebook. ;) I have heard of Hobonichi but have never used one. The reason I went with Chic Sparrow and not Midori, is that I had seen other people's Midoris and the overhang from stuffed inserts bothered me. The Chic Sparrow 'midori sized' notebook is just a bit wider so that I can have more inserts and have them a little more stuffed and the notebook still wraps nicely around the insert. Also the leather my notebook is made from is way more durable and delicious than the Midori leather in my humble opinion. And the smell. I have seen/smelled a Midori and it doesn't smell like leather to me. It smells like...I don't know...it's kind of a weird smell. I know there's lots of folks that want the genuine Midori and I respect that, but the TN that I chose is not a Midori brand for LOTS of reasons. The Chic Sparrow TN just worked out way better for me. :) Thanks so much for watching and your comment! Would be interested in hearing what route you choose to go! :) xoxo
OK... So I'm almost convinced from your comments that the Chic Sparrow notebook might be the route. I was playing in my Hobonichi this morning and it IS fun... but the look of note being restricted by dates and calendars sounds like a luxury in itself. That may be the way. I'll have to look up both on line. Thanks so much for your reply. You were a great help!
Tammy Williams It's ok! :) It's a narrow. I now own a personal sized and am journaling a little bit more. On-the-go kind of stuff, but I think I still like the narrow for more of a personal journal feel. Thanks for your question!!!! xoxo
Hey Ali! Thank you *so* much for sharing your lovie with us. I had a question, I'm trying to figure out how to minimize the amount of notebooks I use so I'm merging ideas and blah blah blah. Anyway - the insert that you use for Bible study / Prayer / Sermons - do you actually physically take your lovie with you to church (if you attend a physical church) or do you do sermon notes at home? Probably a really silly question sorry
When all of my inserts were in my Lovie, I did take him with me to church. I have since moved some of those church notes inserts to a separate notebook (A narrow classic burgundy Mr. Darcy) and take that one with me instead. But, yes, I do take lots of TNs with me daily. haha! ;)
That makes sense =) That's currently what I'm doing, I have a TN separate for church/bible study but in my quest to prune down my numbers I think I'm trying to fix what isn't broken. Maybe I should just work on staying consistent with sizes, as it stands now I have several from a handful of different sizes so it makes switching things around a bit difficult. Ha =) Love your vids Ali, thanks for being a light!
OMG! I feel like we are probably very alike because I am not even kidding I used to say that "All ___insert funny name___ unite! Like some power rangers call LMAO:D
Tammy Williams Hey there! I don't really have a calendar in this notebook anymore, but I used to print out my own DIY fish Midori sized calendars and they were a perfect fit! If you're a do it yourself kind of person, I'd encourage you to look at her etsy shop. :) She has a variety of formats that usually folks can find one that suits them. She also has trials too, so you can just purchase one-three months to see if you like it. I still use my diy fish calendars that I print for my personal size Mr. Darcy. I don't do any planning at all in my Lovie...he's all heart, no head. ;) Thanks so much for your question and for watching!!!
