This was deeply moving. It told a powerful story with just one scene. Every character was acted so fantastically and the message hit close to home for all those out there still struggling to come out. Happy Pride. Never be ashamed of who you are.🥺🌈
I'm sorry, but you can't force anyone to come out in the name of love by forcing a potential career ending situation. Everybody has their own journey and it's up to you to travel along with patience, love and understanding. I loved the short film, very good acting, gorgeous actors and realistic ending.
You are entitled to argue, fight, and whatever with your lover. If he does not come around, and you decide a relationship in the closet is not for you, you have the right to walk out there and then, yes, even if it hurts. But no, you never have the right to out him. No one ever has the right to out anybody else before he is ready. Call him a coward, call him a fool, call him a bigot, call him selfish for wanting you and his pretend image, call him everything you want and leave him. Leave! But you never have the right to out him before he is ready. Coming out is a personal choice, in one's own time.
The musician's boyfriend never forced the musician to come out. The leaked video merely presents the musician a choice. His boyfriend and his angency do not want the same thing. The musician made a choice that isnt in tune with his boyfriend's wish, so his boyfriend walked away. No one is forcing anyone here. It's the leaked video that forced the musician to make a choice. The musician has the right to handle the situation however he wants, and his boyfriend also has the right to walk away if they are not on the same page when facing such an important life choice.
What an awesome short film. Thought provoking on so many levels. There is no black or white, right or wrong when it comes to coming out. Everyone’s journey and circumstances are different. I have faith these two are going to figure it out....together.

(updated) Mark this day. Feb 3rd 2021. It has happened a Country Artist still attached to their major label has come out of the closet. TJ from Brothers Osborne. Has come out in a Times article. You need to make the full length version of Dominant Chord. Your work could be a defining moment in how country music can change. Remember, slow and small changes over time add up to a stable new course. In the end, Country Music will be open - just as country folk will be.... one day. BTW, your film making is great. I especially love your coverage and continuity - very smooth and seamless. Kudos to your script supervisor!
Thank you, our director is definitely trying to be part of that change. he created an online artist directory for LGBTQ artists in Country and Americana, and there is a feature film script ready to take to the next step. We had a fantastic team that worked very hard so we are glad you noticed the quality. A labor of love.
This was so good. Forgot I was watching a UA-cam short film, and was actually shocked when it ended😥 i was wishing for the full length feature on this! Hope you decide to do it!
I love the subject matter. Even though the gay community has made incredible gains over the past decade, I bet there’s some reality regarding how difficult the decision must be to come out in the C&W music industry. One note though, I feel like we join the movie after it has been running for awhile and that we leave well before it finishes.
Heart breaking to watch. It shouldn't be that way. How does a persons sexuality have ANYTHING to do with their talent? Things need to change. I hope someday soon everyone can be true to themselves. How much amazing talent, in all fields , are we missing because of hatred of what people fail to try to understand and sheer stupidity in what is right ?
I get it all the time. As talented as I am, when they find out I'm gay they get real rude to me. I don't flaut it, don't even act like I am. It doesn't matter they hear gay and it's all they see.
This was beautifully done, it brought tears to my eyes. This deserves so much exposure and recognition. Excellent work in all regards, writing, directing, and acting!
Thank you. I thought it was an important story and highlights how even as things are getting better for the LGBTQ+ some communities are far behind and the closet is much more prevalent than a lot of str8 friends knew. Seems a simple concept but equality is having the same opportunities to persue dreams and goals. That is part of life. And to have to hide part of yourself or pretend has consequences. The #countrycloset is a very detrimental force and essentially erases LGBTQ people from the genre.

Hello. I'm really tired about this situation and can't accept nor understand why we can live with fear and have to do that kind of choices in our lives, why the heteros can have everything and we have to choose. The situation must be simple, we are normal, and everyone has to be respectful, we must have the same rights.
as am I. the situation in Country music has not really changed in 20 years the #countrycloset is an open secret in Nashville. the industry as well as those who remain closeted share the blame.
This was very good. I can understand the boyfriend wanting him to come out but trying to force him or making him choose rubs me wrong. Coming out should be by choice not force or ultimatum because no one is on the same emotional schedule. So if you're out and involved with someone who is not out, you must decide if you can be with someone who is in the closet and they may never come out. You can always encourage them and help them get to know others who are out but you must be extremely patient and realize what you want for them may never happen.
yeah it's a complicated issue *spoilers* I think the problem for Brian is he was promised a point where they could be open and the goalposts keep moving. From one-hit record to now three.
@@dominantchord7657 When a closeted person tries to give you a timeline or a promise to come out, you have to realize their fear is probably larger than any promise. You can hope for the great future but plan for the long road that may never end.
You always have to think of your safety first of course. Being in the USA for example with all the right wing religious nut jobs and lack of appropriate hate speech laws. However, if you're life isn't in jeopardy and you remain in the closet and are in a relationship with someone who's out, your priority is your relationship. If love doesn't come first and money and fame or how other ppl maybe think of you is the reason, you're a coward and a selfish one at that. We owe it to lgbt youth to be better than that. Seeing happy commited gay couples that are out and comfortable being themselves should be portrayed with higher regard. Tired of hearing excuses for irrational internal homophobia. See a therapist if you're not loving yourself, life is progressing forward to be better you every day.
You are entitled to argue, fight, and whatever with your lover. If he does not come around, and you decide a relationship in the closet is not for you, you have the right to walk out there and then, yes, even if it hurts. Has the potential to be a full feature film with a storyline that could end either way - happy or sad. It should be noted that professionals in many industries - sports, music, whatever - where there is an undercurrent of homophobia or at least where one is expected to be straight so as not to rock the boat and upset fans or the company, is becoming increasingly unacceptable in an age where gay rights have come to the fore and are becoming increasingly acceptable, and legal. Even the current pope is supportive. It takes strength and courage to come out and be proud and happy doing so. Famous people have done that and their careers have not suffered. That could be the way for a projected movie to end: one that inspires. We need that more than ever.
I'll correct something here. It's not "gay" rights is just EQUAL RIGHTS. You point it out like someone is giving something "special" to Gay peeps. They're not. We give ppl who judge us the power to extend us rights lol. Fuck that. I'm a fucking guy who loves guys period. You don't like it you stay in the closet is what I say. We keep waiting for something from air or something, continue being you, fuck the ppl that don't like it it's their problem not yours. Be out with your Bf or Gf hold hands, kiss be natural, only then will you it'll be just normal to accept it. We have to quit asking for permission!
There ought to be a Gay Movie with the Full Story and how it comes OUT. We live in 2020 and it's so Sad that I'm sure there are a few Country Stars that are GAY or Lesbian and are So Scared to come OUT.
Just came across this short and the subject was very well handled. In a hundred years will it matter? From my perspective it won't. Cast and crew did a outstanding job with this story and HELL THEY need a follow up with a positive ending after some more temporary setbacks. Have seen what's on television right now? I want solid storylines, solid actors, production, efforts etc and subject matter like the one depicted above. I'm tired of the 'HOLLYWOOD' PHONY BOLOGNA FROM THE major studio's makes me rent, buy or stream shows I want to watch. HOLLYWOOD GET A CLUE!!!
Destroying Adam's music career would not protect them from another gay-bashing. Anyone getting into a relationship with a man or woman who's career is on the stage needs to understand who they are becoming involved with
This was pretty good. If you have to lie about who you are then the only people/person you're lying to is yourself. As the old saying go's ... To Thyn Own Self Be True.
Yes and that lying to oneself if doing harm to more than just one person. The fact taht the industry is still in a palce where people have to hide to have equal opportunity is the root of the problem. But people need to have courage to stand up and break the cycle.
Thank you. There was debate over it. Whether in the short we could make it clear enough. It added a further element of everything truly having something at stake.
Great story, but I would not describe this as an impossible choice. The guy is making a big mistake putting career before love. Perhaps his own songs talk about how elusive love is. How ironic that would be. Perhaps he should really think about what he is singing in that case. His boyfriend could see where all this heading, that is why he did what he did. Unfortunately many of us did choose career first, and we have paid the price. Life is much better when you build it with someone.
This is an important topic, and the story needed/needs to be told. I don't think someone like Dolly Parton is the answer. ALL DUE respect to her. Just like in sports, the voice has to come from inside that world......until it does, this remains a challenge to overcome. Also, I wonder if the LGBTQ community has a true affinity to this form of music, enough to be a commercially sound voice to stand with it. I wish you the best of luck, I have "liked" and Subscribed!
Great work and acting! The ending could go either way, just like in real life. There are some happy endings, and there are also sad endings. It’s devastating that the LGBTQ+ community still faces so much homophobia and hatred 💔
Thank you very much. The very existence of the #CountryCloset has all but eliminated LGBTQ+ from Country Music mainstream consciousness. And this has been going on a long time. But it reaches far beyond Country Music and is why still in 2020 > 50% are still closeted in workplaces and certain situations.
Like many stories I conjured up in my mind, this is Act 2. I need Act 1 and its conclusion. Heck, this should be a full-length feature like "Lights Out"....except a drama.
Ok this needs a Part Two. so well done.
I agree, it needs to be a mini series.

Hi. Great short. Abit sad. They should have stayed. Together. Their love was most important than the music career 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Yeah it's a tough call. It shouldn't have to be a choice but in 2020 the #countrycloset is alive and well.
They should make a feature film of this!!
This movie is really very good. Please, make quickly anotherone. I just suscribed.
thank you. writer director @jeremybleroux is working on feature scripts including one based on this short
i really hate unhappy endings. but this was still incredibly well done.
Hopefully with added pressure and awareness we can change more of these unhappy endings.
I've never seen it but it's an amazing story
This short does what all great short films do...leave you wanting More of the story...
Thank you , glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully we can deliver on the more part in the future.
This theme was dealt with on "Nashville" with the Will Lexington character.
There ought to be a Gay Movie with the Full Story and how it comes OUT. We live in 2020 and it's so Sad that I'm sure there are a few Country Stars that are GAY or Lesbian and are So Scared to come OUT.
spoiler alert* that is the feature we want to make also dealing with the unsavoury misogyny and racism in the genre.
Brilliant! Well Done. Mazel-Tov.
Thank you very much!
I really enjoyed the short film very much!
thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it. we had a talented team
Hope to see more videos
It so good i love it and attack my heart so sad...😊
Thing is ~ how to keep it fresh by the middle, let alone the end. Subbed.
This is amazing thank you ❤
Ok but Sean Poague (as Brian) have a really good acting skill. He got madd potential.
This is some good acting.
Thank you, we were fortunate to get such a talented local cast
@@dominantchord7657 wow, it’s very true about the saying “the right people will find you.” I look forward to more if there will be any.
This looks real good!
Great work. 😘
thank you.
@@dominantchord7657 you're welcome😎
Okay. Please tell me there's a part two coming out😭😭😭
This was so wonderfully made.
Thank you glad you enjoyed it. Next step would be a feature. This was originally filmed in 2018
Destroying Adam's music career would not protect them from another gay-bashing. Anyone getting into a relationship with a man or woman who's career is on the stage needs to understand who they are becoming involved with
Wow, that was so good, I actually hurt for the both of them
"actually"
"actually"
This was pretty good. If you have to lie about who you are then the only people/person you're lying to is yourself. As the old saying go's ... To Thyn Own Self Be True.
Yes and that lying to oneself if doing harm to more than just one person. The fact taht the industry is still in a palce where people have to hide to have equal opportunity is the root of the problem. But people need to have courage to stand up and break the cycle.
Well done😭😭😭😭 i need more like this
thank you. we'll work on it
Well told story. The betrayal caught me off guard.
Well there's nine minutes of my life Ill never get back!
Thank you. My sentiments exactly. Nothing but tired, heavy-handed, predictable cliches.
damn that plot twist
Very, very well done! But where is the second half?
The title is an excellent pun.
Thank you for noticing we really racked our brain on that one for a while.
@@dominantchord7657 I was a music theory major....
We need 2nd part of this, next.... Pleaseeee!!!
a feature would be the next step. 🤠🤞
@@dominantchord7657 waaahaaaa!!!!!! My heart!!!
Like many stories I conjured up in my mind, this is Act 2. I need Act 1 and its conclusion.
Heck, this should be a full-length feature like "Lights Out"....except a drama.
Better if this was a full movie 🥺
Part 2 please.
Sean poague is so handsome
