How about if a company replaces employees with AI, that company pays minimum wage into the ubi for each employee replaced.
For example; if a store puts in a self checkout then they have to pay a minimum hourly wage for that self checkout into the ubi program!

You talk as someone who never owned a company , you think these new automated machines fell out of sky and the owners of the companies did not have to spend big amounts on these changes...

@@KosovoisSerbia33 Okay so lets just let them replace people and now we have no jobs. You realize ai will eventually take over right? We are going to reach a point where ai can do the vast majority of jobs, where are we going to work? Any job you can think of right now can and will be replaced by ai eventually.

Hears a question if you just graduated high school. Then can't really afford to go college or university. And how ever thing is going it really is inevitable. Just saying it doesn't take a rocket science degree to fuger it out. U think it's a good thing. Ubi I think is a good thing.

Work a trade job. UBI has been tried several times and never works.

@@tbl268 Really? I hear that every test of the program has positive results. I say you are making that up. Yes, trades are great but you are not being honest about UBI.

@xcanadian1 Nope they tried pilot projects like this many times as far back as the 70's
They gave every resident of a small town an extra 2000 a month and it completely destroyed the town. Buisnesses started charging more, they knew people had extra free money. The whole economy of the town was ruined and most residents moved away. UBI has NEVER worked and never will.

@cuybueno That is happening now. A basic income will free up people to work because there will be no income reporting rules and no benefit cuts or savings limits.

At the expense of companies like Google, Amazon and Meta who currently pay little to no taxes. Easy peasy. 👋
