But White Team B failed to secure more points in the long run and properly defend their own hopper, and the three were mostly gung-ho on killing the Red Team side more than successfully stealing all the enemy points and defending their own. Not really important, but here's what I think was happening with the droppers: The items were being dropped right into a solid block, and the physics engine would cause it to be pushed out of the block. The stairs have their full sides facing the block, so the item could only go out towards the button or to the hopper (hoppers aren't a full block). When the item lands on the hopper it'd be completely hidden from view giving the effect that nothing came out. But if you were close enough (like on top of the block or on the stairs) you could still pick up the item. Later Miko did try having the dropper face towards the button instead and items came out a lot more reliably, because the block the items were being dropped into now was surrounded by solid blocks, in which case the physics engine pushes the item straight up and the item pops out of the ground
Another thought I had: since they were using commands they could of added curse of vanishing to everything the players were carrying i.e the meat so when players were killed on top of the hoppers there stuff wouldn't fall into the hopper, granted that would probably make it harder to survive once you'd ate all your food but balancing is hard so... XD
