Damn probably the first time I’ve ever whole heartedly agreed with Lewis, absolutely spot on. He has been getting away with murder, how many systems and managers does this guy need? No hernia anymore! Caicedo’s performances are poor when he plays alongside Enzo, he is a liability. You need more than two hands to count how many times he gives the ball away needlessly in games. When Lavia is back , double pivot with Caicedo. We need to accept Enzo was an impulsive mistake like Mudryk and move on, sorry to break the news.

I would even go as far as saying he lacks the basic athleticism required in this league and I’ve said it for a long time while many others laughed at me. This league is too fast for him. It’s not his fault ultimately, it’s the board who saw a couple of games in the World Cup and spent 120M on the guy, totally impulsive and over the top. Our midfield is the root cause of most of our problems (except for finishing which is a big one too) and until it is addressed we won’t challenge seriously.
When my club spends that kind of money it concerns me as it should all fans, I wasn’t excited about this signing from the start for that very reason, it’s not a game on the PlayStation, this is serious business and we have got next to no value from this deal and it’s not a financial climate to be making these mistakes as there will be repercussions.

We then go out and buy another Jorginho in Enzo and now we play a back 4. It's a recipe for disaster. He's never gonna work. He can't play as an 8 and he can't be trusted as a 6. It's a terrible situation. He's on a long contract but forcing him in the team is gonna cost us points. We have to sell him. Every other top 6 team have a physical dm even Gravenberch is a unit. We need to roll with Renato until Lavia is ready bring back Ugochukwu January. I'm so sad man I was crying out for a Rodri,Partey type dm to replace Jorginho so we could become more robust again. It's not all his fault but again I don't think the board sit down and think about squad building. We need players who can play in any system.
@@david04108 agree 100% I just think he lacks the athleticism and intelligence to play that role consistently well, he is a player of spontaneous moments and that’s it , really bad situation yes but it’s the reality. I am of the same thinking I would prefer a more mobile/powerhouse anchoring CDM the way the game is going. We have so much creativity in attack we just need a stable and solid midfield who can keep the ball moving nice and simple, arrive into the box and sense danger. He just can’t keep the ball and offers nothing going forward and leaves us so vulnerable defensively, worst thing is he is our captain.

Enzo’s only ability is passing. Defensively horrible, shooting horrible, slow especially on transition. The guy even lost possession 19 times today. Even against wolves he lost the ball 18 times… For 120million

Call me crazy, but his passing is not all that. Sure, he pulls out an amazing pass a few times a game… but I’d rather he consistently create easy, clean chances instead of the few jaw droppers.

Look at Wolves MF: a ready-made specimen for the Prem in Lemina. Chelsea should have players physically capable, like Mario, hopefully with superb passing skills, vision, balance and the ability to drive the ball forward through pressure, when required. Enzo is none of these things but the passing and OK vision on long balls.
We played our best football after he underwent surgery and he was not in our midfield at the end of last season.

Chelsea need elite CMs for their spine. Enzo is nowhere near being an elite CM for the Prem. It's not going to get better with Enzo. He is about as weak as Jorginho and arguably puts in less effort. He cannot apply direct pressure, he cannot ride pressure and he cannot drive the ball forward on the dribble. Too weak, too slow, not enough effort. It keeps happening. Headed for a sale in January. Maresca needs to change the centre midfield. Enzo is handicapping our team. Drop him.
