Evil Dead is so iconic that it was given homages in gaming like the ability to wield a chainsaw and the boomstick in Doom, and plenty of influence to Resident Evil VII with Ethan losing his arm, the swamp house setting, and Jack saying "Groovy!" during your final battle against him as he too wielded a chainsaw.
They brought it back to the beginning, it reminded me of the final, final destination movie. And I don’t consider that a cliffhanger just a completed story

Brucey-go-nuts also uses a different shotgun in AvED. Not sure what model that one is. All the double-barrel shotguns he uses are hammerless boxlock side-by-sides. When listing Evil Dead entries, I think one that should be mentioned is Creepshow S2E1, segment called Public Television Of The Dead. It features Ted Raimi and the narrator from Evil Dead 2. It's basically Bob Ross vs. Evil Dead.
In terms of skipping…I can’t really agree with saying Rise. Yes it’s nothing as great as the OGs with Bruce…It does introduce two important pieces of lore that are cannon now in this new timeline, The chimera and reintroducing there are three books…I think these are pretty neat.
The explanation in Rise feels more like a retcon to push forward with the series; the canonical connection between the "volumes" of the books is tenuous at best.
