Not saying it’s Tavares fault at all. But he hasn’t dropped the gloves once as captain.
In all the years he’s been captain, he hasn’t gotten upset enough to fight someone. Meaning losing doesn’t bother him as much as it should.
Love JT, great person and human being but it starts with your captain. If loosing doesn’t bother the captain it’s not gonna bother the rest of the team.
He should have squared up with Marchand after that slew foot, imagine how jacked up the rest of the team would have been to see Johnny stand up for one of his guys.
Totally agree with your assessment of JT. He's a great workhorse, good leadership abilities...but I mean C'mon drop the mitts once in your life. As a regular guy in life you have to throw down a few times it's a right of passage entering into Manhood.

Hey Aves... Got to admit, I'm eating my words on Reaves! I hated him when he was pre-Leaf and playing like a goon. It seemed to me like he was talentless and just out to hurt players! I'm man enough to admit he's gained a fan! His hits are hard but clean, and not players taken off the ice on stretchers stupid! Instead of dumb penalties, he's making plays and actually scoring a few too! He has been sticking up for his teammates enough now that the intimidation factor obviously makes others think twice before taking dirty / cheap shots on a Leaf! Have you reconsidered your take on him?

The culture there is the problem. The core 4 are basically 4 corporations or entities onto themselves. Trade Marner for a Tkachuk type, give Reilly the C, buyout Tavares or keep him for a few million after contract is expired and use that $ for your defense. Team has no balance. It’s not even a team, it’s a few superstars and everyone else.

This 90 second clip took a full day to shoot. Someone had to write it, Seen had to rehearse his lines, try to make it seem natural and off the cuff.. It should get better but first few seasons are 90 second episodes they said. Full send activities ya know!!
