Common Riding Saturday | Hawick Common Riding 2024

Highlights of the final day of Hawick Common Riding, where Cornet Ryan Nichol led the cavalcade firstly to Wilton Lodge Park to pay their respects at the War Memorial. Then it was off round the town and up to The Moor, where once again crowds gathered to cheer the horses going round the track. After another afternoon of picnicking and horse racing it was time to head back down into the town to "The Handing Back", where the Cornet hands back the flag unsullied and unstained.
The music in this video is "Up Wi Auld Hawick" by Bernie Armstrong, performed for the Virtual Common Riding in 2021.
