  • On January the 16th 2024, I was invited to take part in an independent documentary all about Loch Ness. It was great fun and a wonderful experience! whilst filming, we were interrupted by a mystery sound, which was captured on film. It's an interesting recording, to say the least, and warrants further investigations.
Within this video you'll have information provided to you by Loch Ness Exploration (Alan McKenna) the Loch Ness Project (Adrian Shine) Loch Ness Investigation (Dick Raynor) and both SIMRAD and KONGSBERG.
Join Loch Ness Exploration (LNE) on Facebook for more details and all updates from the Loch Ness mystery. We aren't solely focused on Nessie as we also love the natural environment and the natural behaviour present within and around Loch Ness.
    Enjoy!!

Thank you for shedding more light beneath the surface of Urquhart Bay. Those deep river cuts could be great places to elude searches and sonar for large unknown animals. I always wondered if the activity and commotion from Deepscan drove any creatures to the sidewalls of the Loch or Urquhart Bay away from the sonar curtain. I would love to see Urquhart Bay further mapped out in detail and those trenches carefully mapped. As much as the Loch has been mapped and the contours revealed it seems there are still enough places to conceal a large animal sheltering within perhaps a few crevices or pockets within the walls of the Loch. Dick and Adrian have explored the Loch extensively but beneath 200ft maybe there are places the animal(s) can lay undetected for much of the time when not pursuing food or venturing on rare occasion to the surface.

I have seen a map some time ago showing the bottom of the bay as a crazy deep canyon maze which is inaccurate - this video displays a clear look at the large river cuts that are actually quite deep and large. Great video !!

@user-zh9mz7jg7e You're very welcome, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video alongside the information provided. It's a fascinating subject to discuss, and hopefully one day we'll have the capability to explore these large river cut channels. I personally wouldn't explore the bottom of the Loch first. Instead, I'd focus all effort on scouting the steep walls and shelves for traces of both human artefacts and of course Nessie 😉

Very interesting, as with all evidence gathered it needs careful analysis by experts in that particular field to draw any accurate conclusions. I'm no expert but I've read that mammals are the only classification capable of making "vocalisations" but obviously fish and other creatures do generate sound by their movements. Some wonderful scenery photography and it's great that people are still carrying out serious research. Adrian Shine should have been knighted years ago for his patience alone, what a great man.

Since I was a young girl I’ve always been fascinated by the stories of Nessie. I don’t know what I’d do if I came across her, probably run, wether she is real or not, I’m still curious. From across the pond, good searching.🇺🇸

That's a creature that sound mate it's like a combination of a growl and hiss. No normal electric or human sound is like that. Reminds of Bob rines he photographed under water a large flipper type body and neck. The description many eye witnesses describe. But yet they said it was rocks. Well if rocks in loch ness look like that that's incredible in of itself. I don't know any rocks that behave like a giant eel or dinosaur. But great work pal. Your gonna discover it I think.

Nessie is a SAS monster. Land of SAS the greatest close combat unit in the world. Never see or hear Nessie.

I have a recent image of nessie captured from live cam , it shows an extremely large serpent like creature on top of the water, I would be willing to have it verified, if I knew where to send it.

@elizabethdroney4650 Hi, Elizabeth. When it comes to the live webcams overlooking Loch Ness, we are fairly strict on what we share due to the fact that some individuals believe every wave or ripple shows a 'monster'. You are welcome to send it to our email: Lochnessexploration@outlook.com and I will have a look. Failing that, you can make a report at: www.lochnesssightings.com/
I hope that you get some answers 👍🏻

You've clearly missed the memo or ignored the video, and it's content. This is about trying to document ALL sounds that can be heard in Loch Ness with or without the 'Nessie' element. It's a very unique body of water, and for me, that's the main hook.

@TeamLNE Alan, let's be honest there is only one reason why Loch Ness is unique, it is because of Nessie. If there was no history of a lake monster in this lake, you would not be there and neither would Adrian Shine before you.

@eoinfagan333 I'll agree that the 'mystery' put Loch Ness on the world stage and attracted a wide variety of research teams, which then led to other studies and further exploration. You are free to say that there’s only one reason why Loch Ness is unique, but I strongly disagree with that statement.
