🎯🎯🎯💯🙏🏼 My goodness, I love Monie Love!!! 😍🥰😍 Her comments in the new PBS series _Fight The Power: How HipHop Changed The World_ were absolutely great - so glad Chuck D chose to include her so much!! All 4 episodes of the series are up on UA-cam for free, to anyone interested... ✊🏼✌🏼🙏🏼
Agree! So much was happening then (music, cinema, culture...). Today everything is stifled by screens and "social" shitty networks. Even if I'm getting older now I'm really glad I grew up in that era so no regrets!!
Me too :). Started listen in 1985 for me, 8yr old. Never stop listen to HipHop musik. 80% of the rap i listen of today is from the 90's. That era has the Flow, rhythm, and on. At the same time in -85 i started with Graffiti, still doing it. Golden era is the whole 90's.
Maaaaannnn...I ain't never seen this video in my life nor knew it exist...idk if this is the album version or remix bcuz I never heard this version either....but I'm still going to have to go with the other version to this joint...the one I've been accustomed to for over 30 years which idk if that's the album version or remix....well I did download all of The JBs albums about 10 years ago...I guess I can find out for myself by crack opening that album and seen which one is what
This video is such a VIBE! I’m 37 years old as of this post so i never got to really EXPERIENCE this era of hip hop but man this whole native tongues era is my favorite. Just good vibes, good music, cool clothes and positivity.
We all need to stream the heck out of this jam and take it to # 1 on some of the Billboard Charts.I mean it's way better all these years later than the crap that makes it to # 1 these days.
Y’all feel this energy?? That’s why they had to change the frequency the vibe to gangsta shit!! Imagine if we would kept this same energy and evolve-??
Finally! After three weeks of NO classic hip-hop uploads... I was getting worried. And this is a CLASSIC! Personally, I only follow this account for the hip-hop videos. I’m from the VintageHipHopSeattle era so that’s what I’ll know this channel forever as.
@@klintoninfiniteheart8990 Exactly! It irritates me so much when this channel forgets to upload a music video on Fridays. I may sound disrespectful for saying this but I really don’t care for the podcast. I just want the classics! Lol.
So random.. a chat with a friend and a vague memory of a 'tune' by Jungle Bros! Awesome!! Getting me thru workouts for the last month!! Thank you for posting!!
I wish the Native Tongues dropped a Project. There’s probably songs in a vault somewhere due to all the label’s disagreeing about contracts and publishing. SMH.
2:53 “The industry’s filled with copycats/R&B mixed with sloppy raps” Back when this song came out, hip-hop was still very creative & original at the time. You think raps were sloppy then? Well it’s a lot more sloppy now, lol Apart from that, classic tune. Lovin the collabs - especially with Maseo from De La Soul rapping on a track which doesn’t happen too often, being the DJ of the group 👌
The timing couldn't be more perfect. _Done by the Forces of Nature_ was just remastered with a digital deluxe edition today. I would love to see a Native Tongues miniseries one day. Now Tommy Boy needs to do right and not only pay DLS for their publishing, but put all of their catalog on the streaming apps ASAP.
This is so much better than what we get now. This dates back to the late 1980’s/early 1990’s, when talent in rap was valued. As far as I’m concerned, Lil Wayne and Soulja Boy killer Hip Hop. The only stuff that is ever partially decent anymore is underground. And even that isn’t as lively as this song.
The Native Tongues! The golden age of creativity and soulful expression in Hip Hop which could have inspired a new era as a movement for peace and equality. Instead Black America and rap music lost its soul to materialism and violence.
BONITA,BONITA,BONITAD TO THE WORLS SE THAT THE LOV WAS THE MESSAGE, PRA MIM JUNGLE BROTHERS, PART OF MY TEEN YEARS, LOV U Monnie, (i have the single its a shame),, , LISTEN TO IT EVERY '"SATURDAY", lourival BRASIL.

I love how theyre all just chillin. A bunch of cool ass people hanging out making great music
The nostalgia is strong in this one...
Hell yes it is. Excellent memories!
Yes the force is strong with this one 😂😂❤❤❤❤
☝🏾greetings to all Native Tongue seedlings 🌱

Do It To The JB's Mix by Ultimatum (aka Stereo MC's)
Great, every Native Tongue crews are here. I like it :)
Q-Tip is a legend. The dude was everywhere and helped everyone. As long as it is rap Music. Think he still does this.
its always him and large pro, literally everywhere in the 90s
Lest we forget that it was the JB's who first put Q-Tip on for their Promo joint 2 years prior to People's Instinctive Travels...
He was all about the rap intellect and delivery. He was so pissed with Pac and Biggie sense of violence to the craft.

Seriously, Monie was bodying everything she was on.
NATIVE TONGUES 4 EVER!!!
2:02 Monie Love is the highlight of this great collab. She always shined on collabs. Just wished her debut album met my expectation.
I thought her debut was dope
I remember being a kid & loving Monie Love & then forgetting about her for over 30 years now I can appreciate how dope she is
And praise the lord for the JBsssss
Just finished watching Unsung Monie Love!!! This track was one of my go to Trax at 11 back in late 89!!!
I haven't listened to this in decades I think and here I am reeling off the words. I used to listen to this so much. Classic positive tune.

Yeah they hijacked the channel for the podcast. Damn shame.
I remember as a kid my mind being blown bc never had I heard Maseo’s voice before

That would've been dope.
Concur! Unreleased material please!
It would be up to Pos. They said he has a lot of shit in his vault, including a version of Scenario with De La on it
@@WolfXCIX Why is KMD's Peachfuzz on this record? Zev Love X wasn't in the Native tongue's?
@@WolfXCIX i see, thank you. Its just odd to see old MF DOOM in the Native Tongue mix.
This song is incredible.
